I have had a problem with the rear cylinder not firing and some vibration issues. Checked the isolators and changed intake manifold seals and no change. Well, I washed the thing for the first time in a couple of years and lost the rear cylinder completely! Checked the spark plug boot and had water in it, blew it out and no change. Then I noticed the cap seemed loose on the plug, crimped it down a little and walla!! No more dropped cylinder, no more vibration at speed, quicker warm up and ability to idle. Moral to the story...wash your bike? or check the little/simple things? Philip |

VIOLA-- I cant believe you didn't check anything as your post suggests???? Didn't wash it for years????? What is wrong with you man? I cant believe you rode it in this condition?????????? I have seen to many car motors ruined because the owner didn't get the engine checked out. Most of the time it was neglect and now the cylinder is damaged because the owner never got it checked or fixed. Now it needs a motor replacement. |

I must be really anal since I go around the bike with a socket set and check the tightness of ALL visible bolts (exhaust, headers, axle nuts, etc.) check the plug wires for proper fit, check tire air pressure, throttle cables at the manifold, lights and horn, BEFORE I fire up the bike. It takes less than 10 minutes for the entire drill. I think it is time well spent... |

Fasted: The difference between a viola and a violin, especially in the hands of an unskilled player? The viola burns longer.... (With apologies to Victor Borge) DW |

ouch!! I point out something simple I found and fixed and get nothing but hate! I did not know there was a wash your bike protocall around here and I was unaware I was being graded on the use of slang. Maybe I should just go back to lurking and do as Road_thing sugested...eat more pie! Philip |

I hear ya on that... I avoided night riding for a week because my headlight wasn't working. I found out after taking about 3 minutes to look the situation over that the ground was bad, so I fixed the ground and voilą. So yeah, sometimes you just gotta look stuff over. |

Have pie will travel! Now that my motor vibration has diminished the crust won't get all powdered up going to the Ranchito. Philip |
