yeah it's not perfect, but it's real clean. When we saw the price (on CraigsList) I said lets go look at it....figured if it was a basket case maybe I'd buy it as a project bike. Nope, it was nice! The PO bought it from a friend (who prob gave him a great deal), and never rode it...never even transferred the title. I think he just sold it for what he paid. This one will be the one he tells stories about "the deal" he got! Best past is, I converted him from a Suzuki I think we are going to lokk at Blasts for his wife as well. That makes 4 Buells in my family, and 5 more friends that I've helped to buy Buells...just trying to do my part |

That is unbelievable. I'm about to drop $2K on my X1 to rebuild the forks and buy a Penske, and a few other much needed items. I should be scouring craigslist for a nearly new bike for 17 hundred bucks. Lucky bastard. |

If I may be so bold... race ECM or at least the map from one via ecmspy full D&D system oil pump drive gear chain tensioner all recalls 2001 shifter 2000 footpeg springs It even has the PM wheels. Color me jealous. |

Thanks Hoot. I own a '99 X1 as well, so we have already devised a plan - slip on: free (I have on in my garage for him) - oil pump drive gear, chain tensioner and various gaskets this winter - powder coat swingarm and tailsection black, new rear isos this winter - new rotor if the $110 ones show up again! - I hate the 2001 shifter - it has the aluminum pegs already, with springs - tires this winter He'll put a total of about $600 dollars into it, and have a KILLER ride!! Well....that's MY plan for it at least, we'll see what his plan is! |

Since he got into it so cheap, he should seriously consider the Penske rear shock. I don't have one yet, but I hear it makes a night and day difference in the way the bike handles. Jeff |

I agree. We've discussed that already. The original is performing fantastic, but when she blows, he is prepared to buy the Penske! |

penske is way over priced and not needed, I have Works on my x1 that cost me $725 and it has so many adjustments most i would never use. If your doing track days and you need ever second for a quicker lap time then get a penske. You would have to do a lap and see how the bike handles and then adjust some more and do another lap. So on and so forth to get it the way you wanted it to handle. "I personally think it is over kill and a waste of money" My WP shock is the better one that is fully adjustable. I got a good deal (At cost) because the original shock pissed out all over JTS performance shop floor. I had them set it up for 250lbs |

Boy, I'm glad I didn't see that one. No way I could have passed on it for that price. And then, my wife would have killed me. |
