Well, we'd be able to answer your question but there isn't a valid link in your post.

Well, I cant fix the link its the item (#180395253842). It looked like a stock black S3 muffler in every way, except it was ALL polished stainless. I think they had a buy it now for like $40,(nope No buy it now) not sure if they even know what they were selling. I will never have a stocker (not even a race muff) on my bike again any how. I'm in love with the megaphone with reverse cone.

Ditto on the megaphone. I am NOT in love with, though, the cracks I kept getting in my Force exhaust. I now have an S1W header that I'm going to have a custom elbow and reverse cone megaphone built for all in stainless and polished out. Hopefully that will last a bit longer.

For what it's worth my friend makes his own megaphone and reverse cone systems. (Which is where mine is coming from). In his experience 16GA black Iron lasts the longest. Stainless steel and Aluminum fracture quicker than the plain steel.

'97/'98 Stock S3 muffler. They were stainless steel. Real nice part. I have one in the garage waiting to go on my '02 S3T. They may have been used on S1 of the same years too, but I don't know.

Don't the earlier ones have the 2" inlet?
Or is that on European only?

Stainless finish and 2.5" inlet tells me it's the OEM muffler for 98 S1W. I think all the others were black-painted...

Ebutch,
I used to joke that the mufflers were cast-off from a Ford Escort. Guess I wasn't too far off!
I've had '98 and '99 S3s. None of them looked like that one.
