I've seen the odd M2 with the X1 Chin Fairing on forums and on the net etc. etc...

Do you need to do anything to the M2 frame, brackets or otherwise to make them fit?

I reckon they really dress up the bottom of the motor and compliment the angle of the seat fairing.

Who out there knows?

Cheers...

You will need a bracket that attaches under the front of the rear shock mount. That bracket holds the front right side of the chin fairing in place.

Other than that, the left side of the chin fairing mounts to your primary cover using the same bolts as your shift linkage (assuming you have the newer style shift linkage)

The right side mounts to the "buell" aluminum bar that attaches in front of the front belt sprocket.

Thanks Pk, that is exactly what I was after.

I've seen a Black Chin for sale and seeing that my M2's black etc. etc...

Good Stuff! Nice looking M2 by the way:-)

I needed the X1 front shock bolt, it's about 1/2 inch longer. With the standard M2 bolt the thickness of the chin fairing front bracket takes up almost all the excess length of the bolt, leaving it hanging on with about 3 or 4 threads. It didn't even go all the way through the nut anymore. That's not enough for me, for such a critical bolt. Replaced it with an X1 bolt, now have a bit sticking out again.

Hey! That was my M2!

Orman, I just went into the stealership and ordered the brackets I needed, and spacers, and bought my own bolts from the hardware store.
