from my experience the pipes dont last as long if they are wrapped. make sure that there is no air gaps in the wrap.

like when people wrap the two header tubes as one. that air gap will cause that area of the pipe to become very brittle.

there is always jet-hot coating. and it now comes in black.

you can get jet hot in black now like Love said or they have high temp powder coat in black for exhaust... i think a guy on here did it recently and is loving it!

A couple of people on here have done with no problems as of yet. I checked into it and it is very affordable. He quated me at $150.00 for the whole exhaust and 75.00 per rim. I thought it was more expensive than that.

I had a beautifully wrapped Force exhaust that split in half after about 7,000 miles, but I think that was mainly because it had a bad front isolator. I'm thinking about wrapping my stock header with 2" width Carbon Fiber cloth and see how that looks/lasts. The cost is about the same as fiberglass wrap.

I had my X1 header wrapped for a little over 10k miles. No problems with it except even if you use the black wrap, it won't be black for long. It fades into a gray then eventually sort of brown.

BUT this stuff works great. It won't fade like the bare wrap, and actually insulates heat a little better too.
