This Sunday is raceday at Virginia Motorsports Park. They are having their anual Virginia Bike Fest on April 5th. Its going to be my first try at racing my Buell. I actually bought this bike just to give motorcycle racing go. It's a 2000 S3T. Don't know if any of you are racing locals, but I'm sure I will be easy to spot. I will be the goof doing everything wrong! So if you see anyone stalling in the waterbox or trying to stage with his rear wheel, well thats probablly me! But what the heck, it's just a hobby. If I even survive qualifying it will be a miracle. So in closing, I was just looking for some good luck from some fellow Buell Tuber's as I will be trying my best to make our old bikes look good at the track.

Neil

Good luck to you, nice S3, nice choice of tires, and I'm jealous of your Penske shock...

Neil,

The track is a blast! Have you taken any classes? Take your time to get comfortable and up to speed, that upgraded shock will make a big difference in your ability to ride comfortably and safely at higher speeds.

It sure is cool to get out there and not have to worry about gravel and oncoming traffic and everything else that comes with riding too fast on public streets.

Have fun, good looking bike!

edit: wrong "to" too...

neil, good luck out there on the track, although i would have got the m2 for it but that's me. either way your lucky cause i only dream of doing it. the great thing about the buells, they are very user friendly and make and average rider a better rider because of their handling. let us know how it goes

I don't ride a tuber, but I still wish you a safe and enjoyable day.

I have been on a track once - RA at Homecoming last year.
What a HOOT !!
Only two laps but at a "spirited pace", I was giggling like a schoolgirl for an hour after...

Bikerlaw, is this drag racing or...? I'm not too far away and in the mood to watch some motorcycle racing this weekend. I was planning on hitting the WERA races at Summit Point, but let me know the details of your event. Richmond is just down the highway!

Thanks for the props guys. It should be a good time if the weather holds like they promise. Yeah, all drag racing. I'm too old and fat to be expected to turn in the middle of a race.

Keep it pointed down the track and keep the rubber under you and you will do fine - good luck -

Have fun, it is all in the launch - treat both the clutch and the throttle as "rheostats" not switches!

Neil,
You would be much faster without those P.M. wheels and the Race Air cleaner. Please send them to me and I will send you back some black wheels and stock breadbox right away. Great looking bike! Good luck and be safe.
p.s That shock will probably slow you down some, so send that too.

Well, as expectecd....I made a fool of my self. I was doing great (at least in my mind), and ripped off a couple 12.4's @108 in qualifying, then in the first round I misjudged my opponent and let off. Almost everyone that ran before me broke out so since I chooped the tree on this guy I figured I had room to spare. That cost me big as he went right on past at the big end. Oh well, it was fun as hell. I got to meet fellow Buellers and a member of this board, Collin. Great guy and had nothing but great stuff to say about you guys and this board. So, next time I will not make the same mistake. But hey, if it was easy it wouldn't be racing.
