I've been reading around the web lately and am looking for the best lifter replacements.

I hear the 18538-99B's are the best, but do those fit the tubers? I believe they do, but I want to double check.

Also, any how to's on how to properly replace them would be great as well

Wilson, why are you replacing them? Aftermarket has good ones as well--Jim's work well.
Do you have stock pushrods--if so rocker boxes are coming off, then pushrod tubes and pushrods, lifter pins come out then lifters, fill them with oil before installing new ones.

Just figured I'd replace them while the rockers were off, and replacing the bases with the NRHS ones.
I figured since I can't afford the 1250 now I am going to do as much preventative maintenance, and wear maintenance as possible.
Had a fair amount of ticking coming from up there, so I figured I'd just get them outta the way, if I can afford it.

That ticking is most likely coming from the cams gears, and telegraphing up the pushrods. Your lifters are probably fine.

If you are interested in preventative maintenance then there are far better options.

Oil gear drive upgrade
Swap to xb rocker covers
Roller rockers
Use synthetic oil
Etc

Ok, just was speaking with Sleez.

The updated oil pump is :

26357-02B OIL PUMP ASSEMBLY

This is not stock on any tubers, correct?

And, does anyone know if that includes the Bronze gear? I thought it did. Thanks

Probably the best deal on lifters are the ones from Revolution Performance. They sell the V-thunder lifters for a little over 100.00 a set. You can find them cheaper on ebay but I think it's good to try and support a vendor here when you can.

Does not include the alloy gear - you'll need to buy separetely. Also you'll need to transfer the fittings from the tuber oil pump.

Do you have the Factory Service Manual???

I do have the FSM, but recently found a discrepancy with it in the wiring, and it f'ed me. I cut my harnesses loom looking for a connector the manual said was there, but it wasn't. Going to call Buell today and see if they will help a broke Bueller out. (See Court's area for the thread).

Anyways, I ordered the Bronze gear last night for like $39, along with some Pro Series X1 fork springs which are obsolete.

Well, as far as the fittings, I am planning on saving for a polished aluminum oil tank from Metamachex.com (You have to email them, but they have them, and it's about $250 less than American Sport Bike from them without shipping from the UK.

So, I plan on adding all stainless steel lines, so I will have to fit the proper fittings when I get them.

Yeah, umm..not really takin pics.

I guess I could.

But it's going to take a while. I don't have the money to get the motor work done now since I bought some XB heads for cheap.

Well, looks as though I may not have a bike this season, but that's ok. I'll be saving up to get the motor built....

Another reason for no pics, is the frame is now in the Attic of the Barn where I'll be doing the extensive cleaning of every nook and cranny.

Swingarm, forks (uppers and lowers), possibly triples, and other odds and ends I plan on getting powdercoated shiny ceramic or the durashine or whatever its called.

And exhaust.

Wilson, what's the part number for the fork springs. I need a set and want to try and find some. Thanks, Frank.
