Anyone have luck in finding a parts store that carries instrument lights? I checked other forums and it said that these lights are only carried at KTM, Honda and Yamaha dealerships. Curious if anyone has had better luck or do we have to go to Factory?

I found replacements for my 2001 at the local Autozone. Don't have the part number here, but it wasn't anything special.

There are replacement wedge bulbs commonly available, but not the 1.7w variety.

I tried NAPA, Autozone, Kragens, Radio Shack, etc. but they only carry the 4w and above variety. None even had a catalog that listed the wedge 1.7w version...

Zen: can you confirm what wattage yours was?

Which bulb are you looking for? 68073-99Y is the number for tach illumination, 67421-99Y for speedo illumination, both 1.7W, both proprietary. 194 2CP are the same size and brightness, and commonly available. If you want the exact bulb, you'll have to go yo the dealer.

The only specific wattage lamp I can think of is the low fuel lamp it is the load resistor in the circuit, with the "sensor" being another, the sensor is cooled by the fuel and when uncovered warms and looses its resistance, this lights the lamp.

It's the 67421-99Y for speedo. Like posted, it's the Stanley 1.7 W bulb.

I don't need the exact same bulb, but same wattage would be wise... the bulbs at the stores were all double or tripple wattage -- yes they'd "fit", but would take corresponding increase in current. Not sure that's wise for a bulb that's tightly nestled into the gauge cluster among plastic...

Is this 194 2CP the same wattage as stock? Or has anyone found an LED that that would fit?

Now you got me thinkin' I might need a couple of these. A little pricey, but pretty colors.
