Towards the end of the Buell gathering at Deals Gap a month or so ago my 2006 XB12Ss started acting up. Coming out of a third gear left hander at about three thousand rpms and I pin the throttle. At 4,000 rpm the bike hops towards the right a couple of times with .25-.5 a second between the shakes. I back off and look the bike over. Nothing is amiss. FYI This is only a few weeks after the belt stripped (not broke). I run it through first and second hard with no problems. Get to third and as soon as 4k shows up it starts shaking violently, shift to fourth and I can run that to redline with no problems. I haven't had it to red line in fifth in years but when I shifted into fifth there was no problem.

Any ideas where to start with this one? Could it be a frequency thing related to motor mounts?
