Chris - well I will see you over at PIR on Thursday I am signed up to do the track day. A little nervous yet WAY EXCITED! Looking foward to getting Sweet Pea out there and improving "me skills". Mike says I owe him now - wonder what new part I'll have to buy for him now! : )

Cody will be out there racing this weekend. Should be interesting after all the drama we had last race weekend.

See you out there.

Betty Up-Date:Latest from the Northern front is...cases are ordered, with a 6-week delivery date. Must be imprinted with Betty's original serial #. Stuart thinks She may be ridable once more by first week in June. Will have to have changed the sheets again by then. Like the song sez, " I'm not afraid to change the sheets, when I bring home someone sweet."

WoooHOOO. Great track day today at PIR. Nice to have Chris and Kim there to share the fun. A high percentage of riders off the track today only means next time nobody off, law of averages and all that rot. The Buell M2 is the best bike ever built.

John, sounds great, but I tweaked my back >< and I'm supposed to stay off it for a bit. If it's feeling better by Sunday I'll ping you and see if you're still up for it.

Well, desperate times have caused me to resort to desperate measures. Back in October I was laid off from my Job as Help Desk Manager (PC technical support).

Since October, I have applied to every technical job under the sun and then some. I have had some really great interviews but the unemployment rate here in the NW is some of the highest in the country and I have been beat out by people that have 10+ years more experience then I do.

So now I am applying for anything and everything (GI Joes, Hollywood Video, McDonalds, etc, etc) and I have found that employers (based on my interviews) for these type of positions are not willing to hire me because of my past salary, they know that at a wage of less then 1/3rd of what I was making, I will still be aggressively seeking work and would not be a long term employee.

I have to honestly say that this really stinks. My unemployment runs out in 3 weeks and I have enough savings to keep my and the family afloat for 1 month after.

If there is anyone out there that knows of someone that is need of a well rounded (skill wise), honest, hard working individual please drop me a line, I promise, I would not let you down.

Jim

It's a long haul Pdxs3t but Yavapai County in AZ will be looking for a temporary person (40 Hrs/Wk) to replace one of our Computer Assistance Specialist II's who is in Iraq ATM. If you get your foot in the door you may be able to find another position within the county when Joe returns...

As I recall starting pay is $18 or $20 an hour.

Try www.co.yavapai.az.us

The town is the best I've been in and growing like crazy.

I thought the "Double Nickel" was 55 mph? If that's true, then wouldn't a double-double nickel be 110mph. 120 is double-scary on public streets and my friend Galen would be the first to agree.

As for the break in: RPM's ain't all bad. Stress on the engine, resulting in high heat is what's bad. Ending up at 120 after pulling the throttle wide open from 25 mph in high gear while going up a steep hill with a 300 lb. passenger and pulling a heavy trailer would be a bad thing. One twenty mph is just under 6,000 rpm and depending on how you got there and how long you held that speed I don't figure you did anything harmful. Your profile says you have a black Y2K M2 (the best bike ever made, but I can't prove it) but I just know you must have bought something new to only have 400 miles on it.

Speaking of Break-In: Check this out for a REALLY different view of things....

LOL J.B.

Pdxs3t ...... I know what your going through
I was laid off December 02, unemployment ended February 04. I suspect you will get an extension after 6 months like I did, just don't know how many extensions will be granted. I had to sell my boat, boo-hoo, last month to make mortgage and keep misc utilities on. Next will be the vehicles, but my Buell will be the last to go. I have also been applying to thousands of ads with no response. Two months ago I decided to start looking outside the area. I have had several phone interviews and am scheduled for an onsite interview this Thursday, but it's not local. Keep an open mind and be prepared to move. It is tough going here in the Portland area. Not sure if I can help, but I'll keep you in mind. Best of luck to you.

Hey Shotgun,
I notice the STC ride this month is May 16, same day as the vintage motorcycle show in Corvalis. Will we be stopping there for a look see. I'm beginning to think my M2 could qualify, what a classic machine. Not sure I can make the ride, just trying to stir up some interest.
