Thanks Sam. I was just thinking about that after we were talking about those posters last meeting. I will pick it up next time I am in. I will be in Daytona next week so I will miss the meeting. See you when I get back.

Fellow WCC'rs,

Just a reminder that our monthly meeting is this Thursday, March 4th, 7PM, @ IL HD.
Plenty of deals from Sam's corner, Speedy's racer update and a Daytona Report.
Perhaps we can drop a call to Dana and Mike and get a live report of all that is going on during Bike Week.
See you there!

Thanks John B!

Ya beat me to the update. Wow a great race and a very exciting beginning of the race for Mr. Higbee. I believe on the restart of the 2nd lap Shawn was involved in a crash and one did see the damage on his bike, smashed bodywork etc. I do not know if Shawn used that bike or a backup. Regardless he was waaaaay in the back and made it up to 8th. Despite my best efforts I could only see the Buells on the starting grid in the rear of the back and saw Mike out with Paul but one can "hear" the Buells in the background more than see them.
Meeting update, 12 in attendance, welcome Anthony, "Tony" Martin a new WCC'r and welcome back to Mike Brewer with many of the old faithful on hand.
Discussion was of Buell Homecoming and the available concert tickets but moments ago the Buell Homecoming website was snafu'ed. Unknown on the status of a trackday during Homecoming and more of the club are pondering a Homecoming appearance.
Sam pointed out some the incentives for trading in metric rides for HD/Buell products as well as the large inventory of used bikes on hand. Easter weekend Open House @ IL H/D look for a good time and great values on bikes, parts and accessories.
See Vern or Rudy for info on a Golf Outing June 13th, 100$ for the day.

Racer's corner pointed out that even the slightest of mishaps can cause deformed valve train components so mind those rev's during missed shifts. Better yet, avoid the missed shifts, yeah right.

As always, talk of Slimey Crud Run first weekend in May, MotoGP events, of course Homecoming rides, events besides a Chicago Indoor Racing date possibility for a team Endurance Challenge filled out the evening.

The "Burning Man Bus" made a return visit as did the crew to McGaffers for a post meeting bench race/fall strategy ride event session.
Want to know MORE? Come on out to the next meeting, Thursday April 1st hmm don't be a "fool" come on out and bring a buddy and be cool!

See ya there,

Keith K

Tim,

Thanks for the information. I signed up for the track day, Bud Curtis is an excellent source of info and very informed. This should be a great event and perhaps the club can create the raffle for a track day spot to help boost club membership and participation? Just a thought. Congrats to Mike Kirkpatrick and Paul James from James Gang/Hoban Brothers racing for the awesome performance at Daytona!

Riding weather is here and let's be safe out there!

All the best,

Keith K

For those that bought new motorcycles in 2009 (you bastards!), you may be eligible for a tax deduction. See AMA website URL below for more information.

Hello Windy City Club!
I am back in Plainfieid, IL and am in need of some motorcycle riding therapy this weekend. Anyone else?

I am going to sponsor a "Plainfield to Starved Rock" ride on Saturday March 27th. It will be dry with a high of 56. Sunday not so good.

I'll propose a 10am Sat start at my Plainfield home. We'll flex time as rider count and schedules allow.

10 to noonish --> Ride to Starved Rock
nooninsh --> lunch at Lodge or small cafe down the hill.

noonish to 2pm --> Ride back to Plainfield, split off for home as needed.

successfully purge cobwebs from bike and mind.

If no one responds or shows...I'm going solo.

PS --> Confirming June schedule with the misses so that I may trackday with some of you at Buell Homecoming. What a cool company Buell is...lives on despite the stupidity of HD Executive Board!

So "we" watched the deluxe 2-disc Blu-ray of Twilight, New Moon last night.

One of the deleted scenes on the 2nd disc, is a 1-2 minutes scene with a Red 1125R with rider in full Buell leathers, who ends up crashing, seemingly due to one of the werewolves, and starts slowly getting back up and you see all the Buell name and logo everywhere.

Gotta love it.

Fellow WCC'rs,
Great meeting ten members on hand many on two wheels a few on four, of course Sam and Speedy as well. What difference it is having someone on the "inside" when you talk about a motorcycling moment/event. Mike and Dana gave all a great inside peek at the even now more outstanding accomplishments at the Daytona 200. Mike gave great compliments about the durability of the 1125R race package besides the repeated mention of "EBR" coming to the rescue supplying parts and loads of support. Talk about reliability, how about the James Gang technical team taking two and half days( or less I tend not to got down notes as fast as Mike can present them ) assembled a complete race prepped bike and bulletproofed all the James Gang bikes. Riding impressions, gosh it could take hours, but think of Shawn Higbee after a second lap crash, riding 17 more with one hand holding the body work, footpeg damaged to about an inch, and keeping lap times fast! See Dana and Mike for details. : )

Homecoming was another hot topics with four menbers at this time attending the Track Day on Thursday the 17th of June. A few will arrive near the track on Wednesday as the James "Gang" will be there with trailer and staff to enjoy the event. Paul James will ride the track day along with some bikes from Eric Buell racing barn. Rides around the area on Friday, of course the dinner and concert that evening and visits to Hal's, Uke's with a visit to the Harley museum. Get your self together and join the fun at Homecoming 2010!

Open house this weekend at IL H/D and there will be an AMA racing class involving the XR1200 Sporster, should be interesting.

On a reality note we had clubber have "bad day" on his SV650, give Curt Ringwald a hey and see how he is doing. Oh thanks to the guru of gearheads Mike Kirkpatrick for dropping what he had going and getting Curt's bike up and back on the road.

Speedy's first race in at Topeka KS on April 24/25. The bike and he are "done" and ready for full campaign season. Perhaps a club ride out one of Speedy's races this year?

Ride well,

Keith K
