Found that my left (brake side) lower slider on my Dyna is trashed while I was in the course of rebuilding my forks and installing a Race-Tech emulators and springs kit.

If anyone has a left or pair of lower sliders for a '97 Dyna FXD, FXDL, or FXDS I'm in the market for them. FXDWG lowers will not work.

Email to jacker@midmaine.com please and thanks for your time...

Jack,

These are pretty easy to find on eBay, as lots of guys replace them with chrome plated ones.

Here is a pair listed for $24.95 plus 10.65 shipping.

Thanks Jon,

I'm a little gun shy as to what will fit and work.

I was checking part numbers at the dealers and they either don't think or won't admit that there is that much interchangeability on the lowers.

They don't have one with the '97 part number in stock and say they can't tell me if later ones will fit and work.

Looking at those and also the lowers from the Sportsters with 39mm tubes from around 2001-2004 there does not appear to be any difference from the Dyna lowers.

I'm keeping an eye on that one and a couple of other sets on eBay now and will probably buy one of them if they don't zoom up at closing. I've also got a couple of dealers that I have to check with too for a pair of takeoffs.

They aren't a sponsor (NO Buell stuff) but Elvisplace.com might have what you are looking for.

Also for future reference, if you will pick up the HD genuine motor accessaries and parts catalog(usually for free), you can cross reference parts like that for yourself. Quick fast and in a hurry ;o}

'88-'99 Sportster and FXD Super Glide, '87 and later FXLR and '88-'99 FXR and FXRS are all interchangable. Does not include the Sportster Sport models.

'91-'99 FXDWG, FXST and FXSTC are all interchangable.

Thanks Pammy,

I'll have to look for one of those at the dealer. Can't have too much reference material at my house...

My need has been satisfied, I picked off a pair of new lowers on eBay. In fact, I got a set that are for the dual disc front ends so if I ever want to further improve the braking there is some room for improvement there.
