I got one of the taller windscreens http://www.1tail.com/sa/p/Buell_Lightning_XB9_XB12 _Windshield.htm and it is only a marginal improvement. I am curious how much difference the laminar piece makes.

I had one for my Uly both standard and tall buell screens. I didn't like it on my bike. I put it on Fiance's Scg and she likes it alot. Looking at bug splatter patterns for her and me it looks like the bugs are directed over her helmet, I have bug guts all over the upper portion of my jacket. She is 5'6".

I've used one on my Scg for a couple of years and like it. Use it mainly for distance trips, just keep an extended CF flyscreen for around town. The LL does make a difference in airflow for the rider. Definitely less fatiguing on distance trips

Been discussed quite often here on BadWeb. I've had one for a couple of years and it makes a big difference on the highway.

The difference is very subtle, You will notice it most on highways during extended rides at speed, alot less fatigue than stock.

Anyone noticed any head shake after installing one of these? I bought a generic bar-mounted windshield for my Ss, but it actually knocked me 'n the bike around more than without it. Ride was much smoother once i took it back off.

No head shake or instability with the Lip as far as I can tell.

I put a Uly Flyscreen on my Scg, so I can add the windscreen when I'm riding on the highway. Around town, I leave it off or stick it in my bag. No pun intended for you Euro guys.

Anyone noticed any head shake after installing one of these?

I have had one on my cityx since it was nearly new. I have never noticed any head shake, but I did notice more helmet buffeting.

I had to lower mine down a couple of inches so my helmet stays in clean air. It made my helmet a LOT quieter when I did this.

The only other advice is to stock up on 3m dual lock. You can get them from Rat Shack for a few bucks. Every time you remove your shield to clean you will break off a few teeth. Break too many and you will lose your shield.

I found this out the hard way while on the freeway. Mine came loose at 80mph. Amazingly I caught it before it flew over me. I must have looked comical trying to stuff this thing into my aerostich while at speed.
