I was expecting an improvement, but not this much! Wow is all I have to say. I've read the reviews saying that they are the best compromise for aggressive street/track riding and reduce wind buffeting, but I wasn't expecting such great results. Suffice it to say, I am completely satisfied with these things. I no longer feel like I'm holding my knees, the wind noise/buffeting is definitely reduced, and they look cool to boot. I was expecting these to increase steering effort like my last set of clipons did to my last bike, but nope, not even close. I dare say these even made the steering response crisper. I just can't say enough good things about these! Time to get back to the track and really put these to the test... Ok, I'm done, I just needed to get that off my chest since the wife is out of town and it's just me and the dog. Carry on  | ||

I have the 7o and love 'em. I haven't rode with the 0o, so I can't compare. I have sat on a bike with the 0o, and it felt like it might be a bit more upright, but without being able to ride, I couldn't say for sure as far as comfort goes. | ||

I've been meaning to do just that, just integrate it with the 3rd light between the two headlamps. It's just that it never really bothered me enough to think about it to actually do it. WRT the Crossroads bars, I had a little trouble with the clutch cable binding, so I bought an XBR cable, routed it behind the flyscreen, and out a hole I drilled. You might be able to see the hole in this old picture.  | ||

Sorry guys, no pics yet. The wife took the camera with her, so I have to wait for her to return. I will take some, though. I picked up a set of used 0 degree bars. I was unsure whether to get the 0 or 7's, but everyone seems to really like the 0's. That being said, my unofficial opinion since I haven't used the 7's (but have owned/ridden bikes with actual angled clipons), is that the 0's are a great compromise between street and aggressive/track riding whereas the 7's would be more towards the track. A part of me wants the aggressive side of the 7's just because the bars are still kinda wide when you're into a lean hanging off the bike and the 7's seem like they may place your upper arm is a more natural/comfortable position against the frame and airbox cover. Aside from that though, I think the 0's are better all around. If I were to make this bike a full on race bike, I wouldn't have used crossroads bars anyway. I would either have used aftermarket clipons or Firebolt bars to get even lower. For my bikes use at this time (back country roads, some city, a couple track days a year), I am 100% completely satisfied with these. Oh, and I almost forgot...the 0 degree bars are still high enough and angled properly to give ample clearance between the grip and the bike when turned full lock. One of the things I didn't like about my SV with clipons was how I only had about an inch or so of clearance in the same situation. For me, this made tight maneuvering like u turns or low speed parking lot stuff more difficult since you had to reposition your hands and such. Not the case with these bars...like I said, in my limited riding position experiences, these are the perfect blend. | ||

Glitch, What year are those airbox decals from? I took mine off the bike but I'm going to put them back on due to sun fade...but I'd rather avoid the chrome 2003 ones if possible. And to clarify about fitment, which I almost forgot about, I had no issues. I've read horror stories on here of 4 hour installs with the need to cut, drill and bend things. I didn't have any of that. In fact, my biggest hurdle was reading those accounts because I took too long to 'think' about these problems while doing it and even strayed from the path of the obvious. Cable binding is no worse than stock. Even stock, my throttle sticks a little when turned full lock to the left. In the middle or full right and it returns properly. I've been unable to dial this out with the stock bars, so I'm not going to sweat this too much. In regards to the cable routing, though, I will say that it looks like it shouldn't work. I have both throttle cables routed in front of the right side fork tube right between the tube and headlight/cluster/screen mount. Then, the cables do the unthinkable and just get sandwiched between the cluster and the cast bracket. It looks like it shouldn't work, but after experimenting with other routes, this works flawlessly. | ||

It's great, Shandon. I'll send you some updated pics as soon as I get my camera back. I also wetsanded the plastics to get a matte finish and my grip heaters should be here tomorrow. | ||

Hey guys... I routed my clutch cable kinda weird. It goes from the perch to behind the flyscreen underneth the bracket... then down to the engine. Is there a better way to route it? Pics would help! Thanks!! | ||

Rob, That is how mine is routed as well. It looks awful, but it doesn't bind or drag that I can tell. I put about 200 miles on the bike yesterday without any indication of an issue, at any rate. | ||

Those look like the Uly badges, which I think look great. The only problem for me is that I need to use the stock badges with the 'American Motorcycles' slogan in the oval because of sun fade. When I wet sanded my plastics to get the matte look I was after, the fading became even more pronounced where the emblems were.  I wish I could use them! |
