Hey all, This weekend I had to spend the weekend with the Army up along lake Erie. Beautiful weekend...couldn't have been better! I didn't see one Buell...but I did see about a million Harleys along with their riders. It seemed like every other bike had the black leather jacket with that big orange band across the chest. I'm definitely not a business man, but I know money talks. Hopefully things are a little better for Buells in other parts of the country. I guess I'm going to have to keep stopping at every harley dealership i see to get what they have left! |

Yup the dealerships definitely cater to the "lifestyle" because there are big $ there. It's just too bad most of us are more impulse buyers so they don't sell Buell gear that they would have to order. It's kind of hard to order gloves for example without being able to try them on first. Same goes for boots, jackets, helmets...etc. So Buell gear gets lumped in with Buell bikes in the "just don't sell around here" category. I wonder how DaveS gets the stuff to sell? Oh yeah, he stocks the stuff and believes in the brand. |

Wouldn't wear anything other than a shirt/ sweatshirt/cap anyway. Those HD puds look ridiculous with full branded gear. Would you get VW shoes, jeans, shirt, coat, gloves and cap, and wear it all at once, when you are out in your Jetta ;p? Me either. |

I am in either my Joe Rocket mesh or vanson leathers........ I second. That the entire black leather HD thing is silly. Nothing like a RUB Pharmasist or Doctor pretending they are bad.......Takes more than leather my friend. |

Don't forget the chained wallet! That is an absolutely vital part of the transformation.

Here we go... "We don't stock Buell apparel cause it doesn't sell." It doesn't sell cause you don't stock anything! AND, as a customer who pays attention, I remember you don't stock anything, so I never look for it. When you finally stock Buell apparel, I have already bought it from someone else! Cause and affect. My local dealer carries "some" Buell stuff... but not much. I have to ride 65 miles, one way, to a Buell dealer I KNOW has alot of Buell gear in stock. But, I would prefer that I don't HAVE to travel so far and my local dealer carried more gear... much more so they can catch up to my distant dealer. |

Buell is no different than any other major motorcycle company (other than HD, and Triumph). People buy the bikes, not the lifestyle. Could you imagine the laughs someone would get if they pulled up on a new yamaha R1 with the entire yamaha apparel collection. Sportbike riders are in it for the fun of riding, not for "Brand lifestyle" Just ask yourself, if your buell was made by another manufacture, would you have still brought it? For most of us it would be yes. Buell is a well engineered machine, not a well marketed brand. |

Tunes, if you talk to the folks at the dealership that work in the clothing department they should be able to order you anything you want. If you don't get satisfaction from the sales clerk ask to speak to the department manager. This seems to work for me most of the time. This might help to break that "cause & affect" cycle you mentioned. |

I like DaveS. Someone introduced the concept that Eric needs to create an online Buell dealership. Sounds good, but DaveS already has it. I think thats how he pushes the stuff out, he's got the whole BadWeb coupled with the neighborhood locals. Most other HD shops around here (so Cal) hide their Buell sign, or just never ried the whole Buell thing. |

Oh, yeah, sportbike riders are all about function. No instant "Badasses" in the sportbike world. Can someone please explain these to me then? Nothing say's "I am a wannabe Badass" quite like having skulls all over you. Doesn't matter if you are on a Harley or a Sportbike. And could someone please tell me what the hell is up with these? complete with fake, painted on guns no less.

I wouldn't want to be seen wearing most of Icons products. Not to start a fight, but.... as for sportbike riders being in it for the fun of riding, can someone please explain all the streched, lowered and "blinged-out" sportbikes? All groups have their posers. |

Sportbike riders are in it for the fun of riding, not for "Brand lifestyle" I disagree. People are very much into the brand along with the bike. Ive seen plenty of honda guys with matching honda gear same with all the other major brands. The people who model sportbiking are the racers and thats who people turn to for cool facter guidance. |

DaveS I am just kidding. I missed putting in my smiley face on that post. I do agree on the Icon skull stuff. I too think it's tachy, but I love my custom helmet. Glitch beat me to the answer of the lowered and stretched bikes and there is also the people who just like the look. Ive modded cars and bikes for the sake of making them look better with no benefit to performance. Aint nothing wrong with that. I actually search for gear that is brand and logo free. I dont want to be a walking advertisement for someone for free. |

It's the Harley lifestyle thing. So, Harley T-shirt, Harley Sticker, Harley Tatoo, Harley Jeans, Harley Jacket, Harley Socks, Harley Boots, Harley Television, Harley Stereo, Harley Telephone, Harley Mudflaps Harley Reading Lamp, Harley Toilet Seat..and (drum roll please) NO Harley! |

I can see them stretched for the track but they aren't as agile stretched out like that. To me handling is a big part of the "sport" in sportbike. Just my opinion. I see more streched swingarms on the street than at the drags, anyway. |

The people who stretch the bikes are concerned with handling. It's all about going fast in a straight line. They turn good enough, which is all they want. Not everyone is a knee dragger
