I have the street fighter seat. Did anyone else have to wrestle this thing on? I gave it all I had last night, and it's still got and inch to go. | ||

Perhaps the problem that you are having is due to the fact that the front lip of the seat cowl must be fitted to each individual seat. This is normally done with a Dremel or other small rotary sander. The fiberglass is soft, and a few minutes work will do the trick. One removes a little at a time. If memory serves, I took off about a quarter of an inch at the top, very little or none at the edges. The result is very worth while: makes the bike look cool, and supports the streetfighters butt as he charges through the canyons.  Here is one fitted to the Buell Streetfighter seat, and painted to match the yellow airbox with Krylon Fusion Yellow spray paint. | ||

Alanshouse... Getting the cowl on a Streetfighter seat is one helluva task! Like G_J said, you are gonna have to shave some glass, but even after getting it shaped it is still a bitch. I ripped the sides of the seat getting it on. Luckily the damage is hidden under the cowl. Mine fits so tight I do not have to use hardware to keep it secured. | ||

Wow I was going to purchase one but now I don't know. I have a Street fighter seat. I planned on getting it custom painted to match the rest of my bike but if I could run into damaged paint getting it on I don't know. Paint is expensive!!!! | ||

Yeah I can trim it MAAAAKE it fit but if its that tight of a fit and then go to put it on after I have it painted and I still have to force it to make it fit..... Paint can easily be damaged doing so. I'm probably looking at 3 bones just have it done. | ||

Bads1... Maybe you could have the base coats done before installation then have the touch up and custom work done with the cowl installed. | ||

Stealth the way he paints and applies the graphics,skull's and etc. I'm not to sure he can considering its done in stages to do the process. I'll ask though. I'm bumming cause I really need this done. | ||

Stealth - The cowl is on. It looks good. The latch functions ok, but.....The right side front of the seat is lifted up some, and doesn't seem to want to sit properly. I can't be sure if this is a result of the cowl just yet. I wish I would have used the dremel on the front before painting it. I don't think I will ever take it off now that I muscled it on. The result is very worth while: makes the bike look cool, and supports the streetfighters butt as he charges through the canyons. Yeah, make sure your belt doesn't have rivets or studs, and the same with your pants. I have a scratch on mine already. Not to mention the tail bone becoming sore from slamming into it every time I take off quick. |
