I think I read somewhere on here that they are maybe stronger (less dent prone)? After researching the Buell site, I can't find mention of it.

Thanks,
Sherm

The uly has a stronger wheel to better withstand the rigors of off road use.

I know about the Uly, am I hallucinating thinking I saw mention of the other XB wheels being stronger? (They need it, bad!)

What would they need stronger wheels for. Unless you're taking them off jumps or running into walls, lol.

The only bent rims I have seen are ones that have been in accidents and the wheel took a really hard direct hit.

I think the stronger ULY wheels are also heavier. I wouldn't think Buell would make a stronger wheel because maybe 20 bikes have had bent rims. With the low number of bikes that have had this happen I don't think this would be reason enough to make this change.

With some of the streets around Boston, you could easily hit a pothole that will bend a wheel enough to flatten a tire. I've seen a number of wheels from different manufacturers that have been really bent up.
Then again, some of the potholes around the city could bend up Caterpillar tracks.
