Do you have to paint the race fairings? I know they come white, but I was just wondering if you HAD to paint them...Thanks, Bradley | ||

Yes you need to paint them. They come gel coated, but the color is inconsistent from piece to piece. some have a grey cast to them, some tan, some are pure white. Luck of the draw determines what you get. | ||

Real answer is - depends on how they look to you. If they're gel-coated, you really don't have to paint them BUT as Brian pointed out, the color isn't always consistent. If they're primered or bare then DEFINITELY you have to paint them. | ||

Couple of questions for you Lucas. What type of exhaust is that? Where did you get those frame sliders that go right under the gas tank? Where did you get the signals in the rear? And are those the Keller (I think they're called) front signals? And last, where did you get the actual fairings, cause i like them because they have the head light spots cut out already? at that time the exhaust was a D&D slip-on. Nice exhaust! The frame sliders and the body kit is from www.halspa.com, weld on sliders and the sharkskins street body. get the mounting kit if you order that kit from them rear turn signals are part of the undertail kit that Al from AMERICAN SPORTBIKE sell. Front signals or some found at a local honda shop | ||

About the D&D exhaust. You got the slip-on one you said. I was reading on the American Thunderbike website that you can gain about 10 hp....is that the case with yours also? They could have been talking about the complete exhaust, but I don't know... Thanks, Bradley | ||

No sorry no holes, I have ordered from both Rich (racingmotorcycles.com) and Hals. My stuff for the street is come cracked due to poor packing. I am sure the would have replaced it but I had to get it painted anyway. I will try to post pictures up once the camera charges. | ||

no, the sebimoto fairings do not come with headlight holes pre-cut. The pieces themselves are of higher quality though. we've bought both. The fairings are very easy to cut, and you will have to do some trimming no matter which fairing you end up with. The belly pan will need to be cut for your exhaust outlet and kickstand. You will also need to fabricate mounts, drill holes and pop-rivet in dzus fasteners. If you have never fit a race fairing to a bike before I recommend having someone help you that has done it. FYI: You cannot run with just the upper and no belly pan. the fairings will be damaged by the flexing that will occur. | ||

Look at my profile, i have the sebimoto fairing. Mine has never been painted. Matter of fact it's been lightly sanded and I do get compliments on my bike all the time so it can't look that bad to others unpainted | ||

The sebimoto seems to fit the lines of the frame better too. I'm just not sold on putting a full fairing on the Buells. Some look cool, but some don't. I like the fact that my bike is different than the race replica jap bike, but to each his own. |
