I just wanted to let everyone on this board know how impressed I am so far with Appleton Harley and Daves. About 1 month ago my wife gave me the ok to buy a Buell. I decided to go with Appleton Harley and Daves. Me being in MS I had to call and do business over the phone. I wanted a 9xb, but I really wanted the 12scg. It seemed a little out of my $$ range. Well Dave gave me an offer that could not be refused on a brand new 05 xb12scg. We didnt even haggle overprice. SOLD!
Its nice being given a price you dont need to negotiate or run back and forth about with a sales person about.
Well the next step is to get it to me. Daves wanted to know when I was coming to pick it up. He even offered to take care of a place for me to stay at if and when I was to drive or fly up there. I couldnt beleive that. What company motorcycle or automobile does that for you when you purchase a car? Ans. None of them. I was impressed to say the least. Well I ended up having to have the bike shipped to me by a shipping company as to I could not make the trip up there. Daves and Appleton didnot like the idea of selling me the bike and never being able to set up the suspension with me never actually on the bike nor the idea of not doing business in person. So guess what happens next? Daves flew down here in person to do the deal right! I challenge you to buy a Lexus from Wisconsin and see if they will offer up front to take care of you like this. Not even needing to mention the fact my salesman flew down to meet me! I still cannot beleive how dedicated he and his dealership are to they're product and maintaining they're reputation. I was very impressed with his profesionalism and knowledge when he came down. Its nice to know you can do good old fashioned 110% American business these days. Awesome! Im still impressed. I am also glad to know they're people in this community that are as dedicated to they're work ethics and theyre impression on others as he and others on here are. As much as this board is a great service to our community. It could never do the justice needed to impart on everyone how glad I am to have bought the bike from them thus far!

Ok recap my experience.
1. Offered me a deal that cannot be beat.
2. Offered to provide lodging for customer.
3. Flew the salesman across country to do the deal right.
4. Still impressed!

Thanks again Daves!
-Anytime you need anything or in my neck of the woods let me know and I will do what I can for you.

Wow. Great service--wish I had access to service like that!

I bought my bike from a dealership that knew less, collectively, about the bike I was buying than I did. I bought it in January, and picked it up in March--ok, great, they stored it for me for two and a half months. I called a week ahead of time to say when I'd be in town to pick up the bike (this dealer is 6 hours away). When I got there, they hadn't even got the bike out of storage yet--no prep had been done, and when they finally got it out, they couldn't start it. OK, I was in town for another day anyway--but come next day, the bike was still not ready.

OK, I had to head for home, without my bike. Happened that I was back about three weeks later--they had the bike ready, but there were still some minor problems with it (which I've long since fixed, on my own). As far as suspension setup with me on the bike, well the salesman showed me where the throttle, clutch, and brake levers are...

I've since ordered some parts from Daves in Appleton, and he's been great. I think Buell should hire him directly, to travel around to various dealerships and show them how it should be done!

I'm still impressed after 6 months. People think I'm nuts when I say that I went to 'the motherland' to pick up the XB until I tell them about the experience.

I've never, ever worked with a dealership or salesman like Appleton and Dave. Never.

I definetly 100% agree to Buell using him as a rep for the company. They definetly wouldnt go wrong there. However he (or his wife) would have to be the deciding vote on that one. Us married guys know what I mean.

Dave is the Greatest!

I've purchased many parts from him. His service is incredible. This summer('06) I plan on moving from my 9s to a 9r and Dave Will be the salesman. I won't consider anyone else. So Dave, if you hear this, pencil me in for a 9R this coming summer. Oh, by the way, it has to be black when I leave Appleton.

Heck, I broke my clutch lever, and while Daves was on a hunting trip he called it in to the dealership to get it in the mail to me. He must carry a cell phone wherever he goes, but how did he link to the website while hunting?

Thanks for your support Daves...the next time I get a Buell I am going to Appleton.

Sgt,
Thank you for the business.

There is more to the story,
When Sgt and I set up the deal and I was going to go to him since he couldn't come to me.
While on the phone with him I told him I couldn't get a "down and back" flight and asked about hotels near him. He tells me that the ones that aren't closed, due to the recent hurricane are full and there is no way to get a room. At this point I'm thinking, great, going to be fun sleeping in the airport. Sgt, with hesitation, offers to let me stay at his home, that he already had talked about it with his wife.
So I get to MS and he is waiting at the airport for me. Lighter(can't carry them on an airplane anymore) and soda in hand!
He takes me to his house and introduces me to his wife, young son and Drexler the dog.
The 4 of us then go out to dinner, great shrimp and catfish place! He evens thinks he's buying dinner! I tell him that they are the customers here and they are letting me stay at their home, I AM BUYING!
We go back to their house and hang out talking til it's time to get some sleep.
Next morning my flight is at 6:30am so they had to get up early and drive me back to the airport by a little after 5am(try getting thru security fast when you look like me!)
Sgt and his family treated me like, well, family.
Thank you!

Having great customers, like Sgt and lots more of you make my job seem easy.

I've gotten just a few little bits from DaveS so far, and will get more in the future, but I did wanna say that I never expected an IMPROVED customer experience when I departed from my BMW loyalty to get my CityX. I have no second thoughts about getting the Buell, and guys like DaveS, his service to this board, and his basic customer service, are one of the reasons why.

I have also gotten some stuff from DaveS. He does do an amazing job, some stuff was on back order and he called around to find it insead of waiting for it to come in and after the buying/fleecing experence I had with my local dealer and the lack of service I will deffently be goin to Appleton for the next one. They should switch to Appleton Buell...and HD, he just does such Justice to the brand.

Just wanted to drop a note that both DaveS and Appleton HD/Buell are the greatest. We must give great credit to Terry Doughety (Owner) and Terry Flynn (GM)for allowing Dave to do what he does, along with all the guys behind the scenes. It really takes a special dealership to give him the ability to take his ideas and fly with them as Appleton does.

We (Hoban Brothers Racing, Darkhorse Crankworks & Hoban's Cycle) have been involved with Appleton for many years now, they first sponsored our race team when we raced sportsters and have stuck with us ever since.

Every year Terry D says "John, what are we going to do?" Every year I say "well Terry, you are going to give Hoban Brothers Racing as much hard earned money as you can afford and we are going to go out and have a ball with it!" That is pretty much how it has been for at least the last 7 years now, and for that I really feel honored.

One of the TOP 10 Buell dealers in the nation says that our racing is important to him, that is pretty darn cool in my book.

Terry truly is a motorcycle enthusiast. He is not an investment banker that bought a HD/Buell dealership to make money, he has been doing it pretty much his whole life and he loves what he and his business does, that is why I believe they are so successful. I think few people know that he will work well past closing time only to get on his motorcycle to deliver a part to me at 11PM because I need it the next day and only says that he is happy to do it as he enjoys riding his motorcycle into the wee hours of the morning, and I know he is telling the truth. Dave flies to MS. because he knows his boss would do it himself to make sure a customer gets what he deserves.

Good job to both Appleton HD/Buell and DaveS as I am truly honored and proud to represent you every where we race!

John is 100% right.
Without the support of Terry and Terry, I couldn't do what I do.
In fact it was John's high opinion of both of them that was a deciding factor in me choosing Appleton as the dealer to go to work for.

In the last year and a half I have gotten lots of strange looks and even a few comments about the stuff I do to promote and sell Buells and Buell P+A. Less now days than in the beginning, I really don't think the knew what was coming when they hired me
Others that help me "do what I do" are
Ray and Z in the parts dept
Digger my sales mgr
Shelly in clothing
Sandy, Terry's wife/co owner of the dealership
Comp Todd
Keith,Bob and Ernie in service
Jane and Peggy in shipping

So you see, it is a team effort. I'm just the front guy. The one you talk to,email and see on Badweb and ATC. There is NO WAY I could do it myself.

I do thank each and every one of these other people involved in my madness often and should do it more here too.

The most credit goes to Kandie,my wife as she has put up with my Buell passion for 6 years now! Without her I would not be in the position I am in.

And of course none of this would be possible without all of you! The trust, friendship and business from all of you is sacred to me.

I would rather drive the umpteen hundred miles to Appleton (which may be a trip in the near future), then give my time and money to a local HD (or anyother bike shop) in Michigan. Dave has proven time and time again that he cares, and wants everyone happy and on the road, usually riding w/ him trying to keep up. My wife and i would rather spend our money where it is appriciated and not expected. Spending our money on someone who will appriciate it and want you coming back instead of takeing your cash and never expect you back... just to take your cash.

Dave my hats off to you and when i do get around to getting my next bike (which will prolly be a Night Rod) then i am buying you a beer my friend. you are the man...

I bought my M2 from a dealer in Pennsylvania, 450 miles away. One way plane ticket: $64. Bragging rights from 23 degree weather: priceless.

Seriously, there aren't that many times in life you get a valid excuse to ride a motorcycle half way across the country. Go for it.

It is sort of fun reading these kudo's for Dave. Never met the man, have talked with him numerous times on the phone, countless emails, and a lot of satisfaction on my part. All I have gotten is honesty and the right parts the first time.

All I can say is Diet Pepsi's all round. Remember when you come to Phoenix you and Kandi are more then welcome. Remember to call first so that I can give you a parts list.
