About to buy the XB racing muffler from the dealer. I am hoping it is deeper and a little bit louder. What should I expect in the sound? Thanx! |

Deeper and louder! You'll like it as long as you don't want real loud. |

Dave is right, it is a good sound if you want some rumble, but don't want it very loud. When I first got mine , I loved the sound over stock , but then after riding with my harley friends for awhile it started to seem not loud enough anymore. So I got a D&D on order from Dave. |

Going from the stock muffler to the XB racing muffler, you will love the sound. That was my concern, too loud or not loud enough... I think it has a great sounding, deep rumble. |

Get the whole race kit, I put it on my XB9R when the breakin maintenance was done. Almost 10,000 miles now and am very happy with it, both performance and sound. |

I'm still running a stocker pipe on an 03 XB9S. One Buell schooled Harley tech said I could just do the pipe and it will be ok. Since, I don't want to run it as a racer. The full kit is for racing. My understanding is that the fuell injection will take care of the slight change that the race pipe does to the motor. The tech also said I would lose horsepower. So, it's stock still after 1 full year and 3300 miles. |
