Yes, the 2005 XB models have a re-flashable ECM, which means that a race tuner kit has to be in the works somewhere.
The big rev limiter on the pushrods is the hydraulic tappets. Once you go over a certain RPM, the pushrod touches down onto the tappet. Very bad at high RPM. Also, the pushrods are the oil pathway for the top end. Problems with the tappets could lead to problems getting sufficient lubrication to the rest of the motor. I've heard some rumors about the new models, not sure how reliable, but if they are true, WOW! I can't wait for July! |

I just recently purchased an 05 xb9sx and have been having an absolute blast on it! As for things that I would like to see different on the bike that would still maintain the Buell characteristic of individuality, would be the first camless engine in a motorcycle. EVIC (Electronic Valve Internal Combustion) motors offer complete variable valve timing across the RPM range. The possibilities are endless with this motor design...improved fuel economy, better durability and most of all more power. By the way any Colorado riders out there. Rode to Bishops Castle a couple of days ago and the conditions were pristine, no other bikes on the road. I can't believe how well this bike sticks to the road! |

Of sure source, Buell will launch in next June a new bike. Evolution of a model existing or bottom novelty some fills? Impossible to say, but this arrival goes in the direction of the American offensive in announced Europe recently by the French affiliate. Recall that after the Street Rod tried the latter days on m-s and already available in concession, a big other novelty harley-davidson will be presented in next July.
This official one, a new Buell will be presented to the press in June 2005 on the magnificent roads of Sardaigne[Sardinia]. M-s there will be. Stay tuned... |

PREDICTION:
Sorely lacking and sought after by many is a touring oriented model. We have the 12R, 12S, Blast, CityX, what else is left really? A sort of touring model will make an appearance, mark my word. It is only logical. I will now go consult my crystal ball for tomorrows lottery numbers. |

Yep, my bet too. They're not going to rev the fuel-in-frame design yet. The darn CityX just came out, and I like knowing that what I have is as good as it gets. I bet there won't be much commonality in the bodywork, tho, but the badwebbers will immediately start cobbing little bits on the XB's. Hmmm- what will they call the next bad weather bike? New from Buell- the all new 2006 El Nino! |

How bout the return of the S1? Take the XB geometry & engine, but use the side-feed setup (for the fuel injection) that the Sportster does. Not at neat as fuel in the tank, but the return of a steel-trellis framed Buell might be welcomed by some. The added benefit might be a larger tank also. |
