In case you guys are interested, after I get the wet system figured out and tested. www.norrisperformance.com will be offering a complete XB wet nitrous kit. Nozzle will fit in the tip of the cone on the air box lid. So no need to take the manifold off and drill and tap. Solenoids will fit it the place on the breather cover where the exhaust motor was located. Kit will come with 10, 20, 30, 40hp jets. The first kit will be for the Rs and the tank will be mounted under the rear seat cowl and will come with custom made billet clamps. After I get all the components made that are Buell related. www.coldfusionnitrous.net will be packaging the whole thing up for me to sale. I will be testing for about a month to make sure there’s no problems and that it’s a good system. Dan from Godspeed and Mike from Cold fusion are advising me on this project and I think it will be a easy install nice looking, and safe kit And plenty of GRUNT! Thanks Mike (Message edited by norrisperformance on April 08, 2005) |

Does Mike still have a 'no-buy-in' that costs $2500? LOL. I tried to explain to him that no-buy-in means I don't have to buy-in, thus $0 to be a dealer.....He didn't get it. He told me I'd see a 2-3% improvement over other systems with his nozzels. I told hime I would run his nozzels on my system and do a back to back w/NX Shark nozzels and he told me that I wouldn't be able to see such a small difference...I asked, 'so If I can't measure it....how do you know it's there?'...he proceded to tell me that all nitrous companies do marketing tricks....then he told me I could do some harley kit development..... Needless to say, I'm still a NX dealer, but they shifted their dealer structure last year and it's pushed my costs to the point where I make almost nothing on a kit. Anybody know if Bob Franzke is back in the nitrous biz? I'd really love to do business with him again. I never ran the Cold Fusion Nozzels on a Buell but I think it's time to do a comparison. Who knows, they might be better than NX. They can't be any worse than NOS. I still have the Nozzels in the toolbox. |

I had to pay full price for the set up on my bike. And I'll have to buy three more systems to become a dealer. And your right there is no money in selling nitrous systems. Just something I wanted to do. I figured I'd make it easy for the next guy to install. |

what's the diff. between dry and wet systems? Mike, will your kit offer a continous increase in power, or that impossible? |

A wet kit sprays fuel and nitrous together. And I'm told it's safer because there is no worries about the bike running lean. A dry kit sprays nitrous only and requires that you get the extra fuel thru the ecm, injectors, ect. A wet kit cost more because it has more components. I'm being told you can only use the nitrous @ 4000 and above. Spraying @ lower rpms would be hard on the motor. I'm hoping to be able to sale the system for $470.00 BadWeb price. It will be a complete kit tailored to XB. You can see the basic kit @ http://www.coldfusionnitrous.net/snow.html The XB kit will come with a smaller bottle with custom made clamps and custom made brackets to mount solenoids. It will come with detailed instructions just for the XB. Still have a ways to go in testing and design, about 4 to 6 weeks. (Message edited by norrisperformance on April 09, 2005) |

Thanks Mike. Are you required to push a button or something for a temporary increase, or does it work automatically and give a continual increase (above 4000) until the bottle is empty? How about refills? Where can it be done and what would it cost? |

A toggle switch will be used to turn the horn button into the nitrous button. So when you are ready to spray flip the toggle to armed. In the off position the horn works. You could hook it up so it would start spraying at a desired rpm. but then it would come on in first and second gear. FLIP OVER CITY! Because all this is new to me, I'll have to price a refill. It's sold by the pound and very available at speed shops and bike shops around here. |

most places it is like $4.50 a pound, you can get it at most local speed shops or at the drag strip, i also know the some of the checker auto parts places have it. |

I still think you should have a WOT switch just so that when/if you power shift and let off the throttle you wont keep spaying. so you would now have a switch that will flip you from horn to NO2, have bike at full throttle...now the WOT switch is armed, now hit the "horn/NO2" button. and Off you go... |

...yeah i though that it would be kinda tricky to roll off the throttle for that half a second and let go of the horn/NO2 button, then get back on all in a smooth transaction.....and this will keep you from spraying at part throttle |

You could hook it up so it would start spraying at a desired rpm. but then it would come on in first and second gear. FLIP OVER CITY! You wire in a toggle switch between the RPM trigger and the solenoids, so once you have shifted into what you feel is a safe gear, flip the toggle and the system does the rest, then fip the toggle off for when your down shifting. |

Or use multiple interlocks...i.e. It won't fire until the WOT switch and rpm are made AND the Horn is depressed. If any are not TRUE then the nitrous no flowey! I like the above because if it is done right, you can power shift without stopping the flow of air/fuel into the motor....just let go of the nitrous button for an instant and the bike will powershift as though the throttle was snapped shut. Good for 0.100 sec at the strip. |

I like that idea, horn button no problem, wot no problem, whats the best way to do the rpm. Remember, I'm trying to keep it easy to install and affordable. |

I checked out msd. Here's the link http://www.msdignition.com/rpm_7.htm Something like this may have to be an option. Because of the cost 90.00 Maybe theres a cheaper way to do it. I like the idea that you can set the trigger rpm and the cancel rpm. So you can shut the nitrous off before the rev limiter. Another safety feature. $.02..... Most of the basic "kits"(for cars) include the hardware to hook it up, but the safety is left to the consumer to either be smart with the application, or purchase electronic equipment to make it safe for them. There are some very nice(expensive) nitrous controllers out there that do what Imgemar wants(no offense), which is spray safely, under certain conditions, ie: WOT, above 4k rpm, shut off before rev limit, until bottle is empty. They even have a bottle pressure safety to cut extra fuel when the bottle goes dry. I personally can't afford the "extra safety equipment", or I'd run juice on everything I own. I am not responsible enough to run just a button. Jegs Nitrous stuff nitrous controller |

I'll have to check to be sure, but it seems to me that dynatek may have something available for your rpm trigger. |
