For some reason the new issue of HDs "Enthusiast" showed up in my mail box. Awesome picture of the Buell blast powered 550 Dirt Tracker. C&J single shock frame, PM Wheels..56HP. Might have to convert the Wifes Blast to a street version of this. |

That's cool! You'd look like The Fonz!!! I loved his bike. I had a '72 Triumph 650 Tiger that I restored to original condition. I should've never sold it.....or my 900 Sporty hardtail....or my Interceptor....or my wifes Sporty...or...... |

The article called the engine a Rotex engine. Is the Blast engine a Rotex or ? |

That is definitely a Blast engine. The Rotax unit isn't canted forward so much and doesn't have push rod tubes. |

I believe that the original TT short trackers in the 80's had the Rotax engine ,but the current XR 550 is based on the Blast |

I guess I should have read the WHOLE article in the "Enthusiast" and I would have seen that it was Harley 20 years ago. Good thing I didn't ask if they were the Amerriche (sp) engines of 40 years ago (250 and 350 Sprints). |

Jeff Cass-C & J used to be located in Fallbrook, CA near San Diego. I don't know if they are still there. I had him put a Suzuki 500 in an ATK style frame in the mid 1980's. He's a good guy and will build whatever you want (all high quality chromemoly. xbolt12 |

A used Blast - 2g, C&J frame and body - 3g, NHRS 600cc kit and misc. 4g - not as much as you think, and if you used mostly Blast parts you could save 1.5 g - some blood, sweat and tears - and enjoy! Not as much as you thought there and the ride would be a one of a kind street ride! GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

I have a fancy for a XB12 based trailie, you know long forks, long swingarm, wide bars, the problems will arise in the tank department etc, I know the CityX is part way there but I'm thinking more AfricaTwin or Beemer GS stylee, with a decent seat & luggage rack it would make a decent replacement for the T. Just thinkin out loud |

Mr. Grumpy...You may just be a cook, but I sure do like the recipe you just concocted for an XB12 Trailie. |

In the deep dark areas that I dare not reveal, I have seen a REAL Buell dirt tracker based off the XB Platform. Not this Buell dirt Tracker in a Harley style frame stuff. Annony to protect the fabbers |

No, it is in the U.S. and a honest, no brakes, go fast turn left dirt tracker. |

If it has no brakes will it be competing with Jawas? That'd be interesting. Might have to run up to the Plymouth flat track racing to see one if it is.

Interesting...If a Dirt Tracker exists, then given some pics and some shade tree mechanics, a Street Tracker can't be far behind. Has any one seen pics on the internet or in the racing publications of the Buell Dirt Tracker? FYI, I still think this Euro Scrambler is cool...

I am aging myself with this one. In the old days, meaning before disc brakes wear widely availible, flat trackers ran no brakes on the half mile and mile tracks as did many of the short trackers. Many two strokers opted for compression releases to do their slowing down for them. MikeJ, I really like that speedway rig, spent to many hours at the Orange County fairgrounds watching those slide! Great sport. If I remember correctly it was against AMA rules to run brakes until the late 60's early 70's on flat trackers. |
