When the 12R's first came out a guy from Ft. Lauderdale bought a black one (from Orlando HD)and put full body work on it. He is a member of BWB and has posted pics of his bike. Maybe he or someone who knows him will speak up.

That fairing is nice. But pricey$ Is it worth it?
A lot of money to being throwing around if you crash.

It's been my experience that Sharkskinz hold up EXTREMELY well in a crash. My race SV has Sharkskinz and they needed little repair after my high speed get off. The tank was mangled, pipe destroyed, fairing stay snapped. forks and wheels bent; but, the fairings held up well.

The full fairing do look cool, but on the other hand one reason I liked the XB12R was the small fairing and the chin fairing down low. Leaving all that good looking hardware exposed and NAKED!

To bad there's not a 10 minute change over for those days you don't feel like being so naked out on the street.

Once you have the fairing setup, it is roughly a 10 min change over Windward.

Cooling to what I understand from Hal's really isn't a issue.

Cooling?

They run a larger oil cooler a different duct on the intake.

There is a guy I met at Laguna who had one from Hal's on his 12r. He had attached a temperature guage and was taking some readings, but I never got a response back on this board. His trademark was Buelzebub racing. Anyone know him?

Guess I could try the card he gave me: Chance
Get out of Jail Free? There is a phone number on it so I guess I could try calling.

Sure they are and there also running the bike at higher RPM's then we ever would.I talked to Hal's about the kit that they sell and asked about heat. They told me the bike would be fine not a problem.I didn't ask for specifics I didn't care.Terry's word is good enough. They also have one on the floor with a full body kit on it and the 1050 kit in it ready to go for sale.

From the looks of it you would need to use their duct, but maybe I am wrong here. My only concern would be when idling or caught in traffic in hot weather. We all know how hot xb's can get.

I certainly am not doubting Hals or their product, just interested as I may want one eventually.

We supplied a customer with a race fairing from Rich Cronrath at Innovative, and he has adapted it for road use. He has used just the top part of the fairing matched with the OE chin spoiler and it looks very neat. He has had no problems with cooling all year, even using the stock oil cooler and no extra scoops.

I can't find it now (I'm on dial up at the moment so pictures aren't even worth searching for) but there's a fully faired XB that looks like an RR1000 replica. It was at the salt last year (I think). Blue I think it was, that was one nice looking bike. It's what I'd want if I wanted a faired bike.

That bike on the salt was run by a group of guys from the factory. Great looking bike, and they posted good speeds as well.

Anyone remember the posting for full fairing that came from an eastern european manufacturer, something like mopi I think. Was much cheaper than sharkskinz?

Sure is nice to look at though.
The one off doesn't surprise me, although the weight does. Must be fiber glass?

If all the original bike is under there instead of replacing it, would make it heavy for sure.

I'm digging the sharkskinz. I like the look. Whats the website for the Yoyodyne? I want to check em out. Before I get the sharkskinz.
