Anyone know if the billet oil coolers work? I believe they're aluminum and go around the oil filter. Anybody have one?

I don't think you'll find one to fit the XB, as there is extremely limited space around the filter.

I would question its effectiveness first of all. Your XB already has an oil cooler on it.

Do you think even cooler engine oil temperatures cannot benefit an XB?

You're correct. It looks to have little room before it comes in contact w/ the various surfaces around the filter itself. A highly unlikely fit.

As I recall, American Sport Bike sells a cooler/filter that uses replaceable elements. They were a little spendy as I recall (Notice I didn't say TOO expensive, just spendy).

You've got an oil cooler and the swingarm is a big heat sink as well, I'd be worried about cooling the oil too much. Ya gotta get it hot to ge rid of condensation.

Yes, I think you can get your oil too cool. Oil lubricates best at around 200 degrees. I don't remember where I heard that, someone correct me. Will the "slip on your oil filter" cooler make your oil too cool? Probably not. Will it significantly cool your oil? Probably not. It just doesn't seem like it would make good enough contact with the filter housing to transfer that much heat. I looked at them a few years ago and decided to use an actual oil cooler instead. It's your money dude, and its your bike. I just happen to think you don't need it and that it will do you no good.
