Hey, All,

I'm new to this website. I very much enjoy reading the posts. I have an '03 XB9S with a race kit. It seems as though I can't leave well enough alone...I've seen (frame) painted XBs. Is there a special precaution to painting the frame which doubles as the tank (in terms of prep, sanding, etc.)? I'm sure this will be terribly expensive and probably beyond me but I want to plan and save for this. Any suggestions?

Yes-trade it in on an XB12 and get the black frame. You'll probably spend less than you would prepping and painting your 9.

Oh, for crying out loud...LOL

Monkey, there's nothing special you should have to do to prep it for painting. There has been concern regarding a sealant coating on the inside of the tanks that could react adversely to heat, so you might want to stay away from using a machine to sand it, but other than that, drain all the fuel, let it air out real well, and have at it.

Darth;
Make up your mind, hey? Are you crying out loud or laughing out loud? You're confusing me.
