My buddy at work finally bought what he thinks is a real motorcycle(1995 Honda Magna 750)and immedietly began talking serious smack about my 9s. If my pipe wasn't on its way to the boys in NC for a little mod I would have hooked him up that day and shut his big yapper for good. BUT...since we have a little time on our hands I want to see what the rest of the 9 riders have to say about some dweeb riding a 750 Fagna talking smack about buells. My advise to him was to bring earplugs, a camera, and a backpack to carry his pride home in!!!!! |

At one time I owned 2 1/2 of those things.Make sure the road you choose has plenty of good turns in it,they corner like a pig. But on along straight he might make you feel bad....Later Charlie |

No he won't. My brother has a Magna (and a ZX9R). I have a little seat time on it. The XB9 would kill it in a straight.....bad. Never Give Up! |

A friend of mine had a V-max and my XB9R with the race kit was neck and neck with it on straights so you shouldn't have a problem. I think the fact that a Harley powered bike could run with his beloved "Max" pissed him off so much that he went out and traded it in on a Hyabusa. |

The guy with the V-max obviously either couldnt ride or was in too damn high of a gear. |

I put over 20,000 miles on a 84 Magna. They were the 1st year of the tarriff so they were 700cc not 750. The thing pulled REAL hard from 8000 on up. If memory serves, it had about 76hp according to the specs. In a straight line it was very quick but a real pig in the corners. The early Magna's were less cruiser than they are now. Even though mine was more upright, it was a bit twitchy at anything over 80MPH. If you didn't get over the tank, it would start to head shake. A bit unsettling the first time it happened. Just make sure you have a few curves, you shouldn't have any problem!!! Brad |

I gotta laugh when a Buell rider talks big about have a faster bike. Beware the the 600cc replii-racers. Of course my '97 Cyclone will whoop your XB's butt. So there. |

Hey, when we can beat someone, we have to crow about it. That's not why I bought the XB though (I wanted a slower bike). If I wanted really fast, I would have kept my RC51 or highly massaged, 140rwhp ZRX1100. I like my XB better than either of those bikes on most days. Never Give Up! PS. A V-Max should absolutely kill the XB. I raced one in '87 on my '86 900 Ninja (fast bike of it's day). He pulled a bit on me and held it until the road got a little twisty. Then he saw my tail light getting smaller and smaller. I got a good launch too. Those bikes are just fast. That old '86 Ninja would've handed my XB's ass to it on a plate. |

Have to agree, my XB9 is great and fast enough for the sort of riding I like to do, but it could never hang with a seriously ridden piece of rice.

Buelluk, And that's exactly what I tell people who put my bike down... If I wanted to go 180 mph I would've bought something else. No other bike makes me "feel" the way the Buell line does. |

The road is for riding, the track is for racing, over 100mph on public roads is a felony in some states, Wanna race? Take it to the track. Don't want to take it to the track? Then buy a slot car set instead. |

For all of you who missed the point. This was about a NEW buell vs. a shitafagna, not a 97 cyclone vs an XB, nor a XB vs. a 600cc race bike. We all know the jap inline fours will beat the buells. A yamaha R6 will make you look like a girl on your 97 cyclone. It was just a post about some slapnuts talkin smack about an XB9. So....... if you actually OWN the bike feel free to comment. If not, shut the #%@! up!!!! |

Oh, well, okay then, no off tangent discussion, no non-XB9 owners, no non-Magna owners, only the chosen few need reply. No problem, be sure to keep your huevos off the pavement. bye.

Buells are already outcast from most other motorcycle communities. No need to ostracize yourself from the rest of us Buell riders. Take care, be safe. |

Yeah no shit... Be nice dude. Maybe take a look around the website and get an idea of exactly the type of website you're dealing with before you spout. It'll be pretty rare to find someone that has owned both your "fagna" and an XB so people will (as they are prone to do here) try to give you the best information they have available. |

Sorry, just gotta say this, but I believe Cycle World found that on their nearby track the XB9R clocked a faster lap time the the F4I, now of course we all know who was winning on the straights, and who was winning in the corners. I personally like many of you had other features in mind when choosing my bike rather than outright top speed. I've only briefly taken my bike over 100 once. I mostly just love cruisin the canyons by my place, and am not out to scare myself anymore. Love the look, love the feel, love the sound, love the simplicity and creativity. |

You don't understand... You don't WANT to stir this pot. It's pretty much exactly as it should be. Maybe taste the soup before you go dumping a bunch of salt into it with your eyes closed. I don't mean to offend, but there are some fairly important (even some VERY important) people who frequent this site and I doubt that they would take issue with you telling them to STFU but I do... As far as you having your eyes closed... I know you do because you obviously stumbled onto this message board w/o taking a look around to see just exactly what you were getting into. Have some respect and I assure you, this IS the best website you'll ever find. In any case... I too think the XB9 will walk the fuck away from that Magna as long as there are some corners involved. Also, when showing that Magna what's up, be careful. I've not had any trouble, but I hear that the XB's handling is a bit "quirky". I suppose I have the advantage that the only real sportbike I've ridden is my XB12R (I had a CB750F-SS) so I have no idea what sort of "quirkyness" people speak of... It all seems pretty damn natural to me. Anyway, have a nice day. |

Yeahcmon -- as has been suggested, yu may wish to wander this board abit before you decide to stir the pot . . . . but, at the end of the day, if stir you must, go ahead on, but be prepared to get stirred back by masters (of which there are several here) . . .. . btw, are you so, er, in your face, because you drive a festiva? |

Instead of wasting your time trying to prove something against a 750 Magna, why not try your luck against some old beastie such as this 85 1100 Magna? Little closer in cc size & weighs a hell of a lot more than an XB does. Sure this thing wont handle curves all that well, but on the average roads where most of us live this bike will kick an XB's ass.
