Hi everybody; After owning a XB and a 1125R, both highly modified, I had the need for doing something else. I always loved the famous XR750 and I starter considering going in that direction, building a Flattacker / Streettracker. We all know the strengths of the XB engine, a 100hp twin engine with tremendous torque. I also wanted to keep the perimetral brake or the swingarm that includes the oil tank. Therefore I only need a brave engineer shop in order to put everything together, who could design the frame among other parts. And then I met David and we talk about this idea. He has an engineering shop called Bottpower, and they have fully designed and produced a great Moto2 racing motorbike. As many of you may know Moto2 has the coolest races in the Motorbike World Championship, and more fun than MotoGP. So we have just starting the project, measuring everything, doing the renders and searching options for designing the frame. This is the engine render:

I have been folowing Davids blog and been in touch with him for a while about various projects, so his latest projects involving Buells really have me interested He has this flattracker project plus another exciting future project using a Buell engine on the cards, so I think there will be some exciting news before long |

Thanks to all for your interest in that project. Right now almost everything is already designed on CAD. We are now on details and in a while we will start building. I'm posting this renders, however in terms of colors, may change a lot as we are just testing some combinations. We also have to finish some issues on the frame and engine. The injection thing is not easy to solve as we have to make the throttlebody lay the the right, and this affect the all inyection, airfilter, airflow, maps..... a headache that I'm not sure how to solve as I want to keep EFI.
This is the link to the project: http://bottpower.com/eng/?p=302 You can also follow on facebook and twitter. I hope you like it. Best regards from Barcelona. |

If you want to go the EFI route, the tube frame Buells have the intake opening to the right instead up straight up. |

I love the design, best of luck with the build and keep the pics coming! It's also got some attention at Hell for Leather: http://hellforleathermagazine.com/2011/03/buell-ca n-still-kick-harley-ass/ |

Ramon- The motorcycle looks awesome, but what does the frame look like? It appears to be virtually completely concealed in the images above. |

Hi Crackhead, the tube frame buells have it to the right, but the throttlebody is a lot smaller with smaller air intake, the injectors are different... but thanks. Hugh, the frame is a central spine and together with the subframe do not show so much, this was the idea, to show engine/deposit/tail as core of the bike. |

When do we get to see the rolling chassis? I'll bet it looks absolutely anorexic! |

That has got to be the sexiest thing I have seen in a long time. just amazing, that is a great looking bike, all the right power to go and stop and the styling that somebodys XR wanted. Amazing job. |

i wonder how they plan on mounting the motor to the frame? i dont see anything that resembles uniplanar so its gonna be either rubber mounted or for those of us without fillings, rigidly mounted. also has anyone dyno'd a buell with a completely open airbox? i dont know if they could match stock numbers with that intake setup (not being a smart ass, i dont know the answer) |

that is going to be a sexy bike. My question though is this going to be a race bike or will their be some lights on it at some point? |

Hi everybody. The frame is finally complete and we start now to build it. Here are some pictures with all frame details. Some issues had to be solved in order to ad rigidity. This is the result:
