Hey, I had great luck in Walmart finding oil filters that fit the XBs, I appreciate the knowledge. Even the good Frams with teflon are there. My question is; Does someone know of a good and easy to find gearbox oil/tranny fluid that meets the XB requirements? The only thing listed in the owner's manual is the Harley product. Any help would be appreciated. Blackhat "All Hail Erik!" |

There are some tests posted on the web about oil filters and fram comes up as the worst quality. all others far exceed fram including emgo with does well in quality. fram uses all paper construction where all others use tin top and bottom to hold filter media, the paper disinagrates and clogs oil passages in motor, another report stated the filter media was half in sq. in. than others. my local napa store had a display on the counter of a fram and napa disected demonstrating the differance in quality. I took a new one apart myself and found the same. You can do a wed search on oil filter comps or tests to back up what I've stated. I do miss the convenence of wally world for filters though. |
