I LOVE my special ops pipe too. And they are very reasonably priced! |

Phazernut, That sounds like about what I'm looking for. One thing I forgot to ask - Does it maintain that valve thing or whatever it's called that the 12s have? A different thread had a picture of a baffle that you can insert into the Drummer pipe to quiet it down. It'd be great to be able to use that for the Hawk for long trips. Seems like if the outlet pipe was the same diameter, it wouldn't be a problem. |

Not sure about the exhaust insert. The Hawk comes with dual outlets unless you get Randy to do a custom one. He does not use the exhaust valve. On the Jardine I really noticed the valve missing (No bottom end or midrange) The Hawk does not have that issue. It pulls stronger down low than it did with the stock muffler and continues all the way to redline. Instead of gutting my stock muffler I bought a used XB9 Muffler and had it sent to Randy. That way I got to keep the stock one in case I ever wanted to go back. Also the XB9 muffler is a fair bit lighter than stock. |

I think the Special OPS pipe is the only one that retains the exhaust valve modulator. The special OPS gets great results for improved performance. Sound is much meaner, some may find it a little loud but I love snapping the throttle and setting off car alarms when I'm pulling into the parking structure, lol. It sounds meaner then my Mustang GT, not louder, but meaner. I saved 4-5 lbs off the weight. I got the custom rear exhaust outlet, which looks wicked. It got rid of the surging/hesitating in the 2900 rpm midrange. It retains all the stock jacking points. lol.........as I said before........I LOVE my special OPS pipe. |
