Sorry if this is in the wrong area . I dont know if there is a correct area for this but thought you guys might like this info. Ironically this was supposed to be Buells original platform of sorts.
There is now a second American sportbike company : Roehr Motorcycles
It looks like a well thought out, modern sportbike with duel beam chassis , quality aftermarket add ons ( brakes controls ect ) and a unique power suppy . Roehr uses the Harley Davidson V-Rod motor. the motor that the Firebolt was SUPPOSED to start out with , but stolen so to speak by H-D. With the ante in the liter bike class upped considerably horsepower wise Roerh decided to go a different route to match the japanese dyno charts using mild supercharging to attain a claimed 180hp at the crank . The V-Rod Motor isnt a sloutch to begin with so 180hp seems like a realistic figure. Being its so different than anything else on the market and seemingly a very capable sportbike. Someone stop me from my self destuctive motorcycle purchasing addiction lol

Do a little search for Roehr on BadWeb and you will several threads on the company. HD didn't steal the motor- it was too heavy for Eric to use. I watched a whole documentary on it, with the words right from Eric's mouth. I mean, that bike as light as it looks...weighs 432 dry! Bad Ass bike tho.

Looks like their site only has 1 bike now...wonder what happened to the other models?

Almost forgot. The company website is http://www.roerhmotorcycles.com. On the website they have a trackday video . Tell me what you think of the bike .

Andy I got the info from a video of Erik Buell himself describing the situation . But then again he might have been talking about using an engine of the V-Rods basic design and Harley grabbed it, beefed it up and used it in the V- rod motorcycle . Because what you say makes sense. The V-Rod motor is rather large for a sportbike per se

I remember a few years back when that first came out, Roerh made comments like "This is the bike Buell always wanted to build" or something along those lines. We all laughed, and a few months later the 1125R came out. : )

Style and fit for me.........it doesn't get any better then a 12XBscg. It's the perfect bike for me. (180 horses would make it a little better though, lol)

To each his own.

That Roehr is a beast, but ugly in a bland, antiseptic way. Not much style happening there. And the price is ASS-TRO-NOMICAL. $40k+ is a wee bit more than sane people can afford, IMHO.

I love Fischer, though most people think the styling is too over the top. But at $8k, "Joe" can actually afford one. They have some nice tech going on as well, though I wonder about the Hyosung engine.

At $100,000 for the Czysz I don't think too many of us will be getting 1 of the 50. I don't really call them a manufacturer with an output and price like that. Looks neat but just unrealistic. The Fischer and the Buell are really the only ones with a real (sort of affordable) price on their heads.

Motoczysz! I remember reading an article years ago about his engine. A linear V if there ever was one! Really strange! I believe the back two pistons run on a crank that is lower or something like that. I still have the magazine and need to re-read. I think the most unique of the pack to say the least!

The revolution engine started out as a Buell project till Harley's bean counters got a hold of it. They decided they wanted to use the engine in a "Power Cruiser" as well. Once that decision was made, more and more modifications were made to make it suitable for that purpose, which made it less and less useful for Erik's purposes. When Erik saw the final product, he decided to stick with the air cooled engines.

Eventually he was able to persuade the HD PTB to allow him to source a water-cooled engine from outside and thus we have the 1125R and 1125CR.

The Roehr is a great machine - but - it is unraceable in any road racing class that I'm aware of. As a hyper-cruiser (like the Busa) it would be really cool but $25K more pricey.

It is a motorcycle that has appeal to the non-racer WANTING something unique. Kinda like a 4 seat Lamborghini or Ferrari. The Ferrari drive says "So it doesn't have a class to race in? So what? I like red."

There probably are enough folks with enough bucks to buy a few of them so they can claim to be the only kids on their block to own one.

I would be willing to pay good money for a tricked out middleweight.....but only if it says BUELL on it.

I really like my Jezebel....but something slim and trim and really light could lead me astray.

I am not decrying the demise of the Blast...Erik was right...now step up and fill the void with a real middleweight.
thank you : )

The XB's just need a lighter water cooled engine.
