Which cover? The nicer ones that American Sport Bike sells or the ebay junk? Mine fit perfectly. : )

Perfectly? I see a very uneven gap from cover to frame...

Not trying to knock it- it is a sweet looking piece! ...but for $360 or whatever that thing costs, I'd be pissed about the fitment.

I don't get it- why is carbon so hard to make and make it fit properly?

Mine's from American Sport Bike

Fitment was overall good. Holes were drilled slightly off but not enough that it caused any major problems. I also have the windscreen and front fender from American Sport Bike

And andy. Look at a lot of the stock airbox covers. The gap on mine was much worse that Froggy's carbon cover.

Oh I know! I've gotten my stocker to fit well with some tweaking (although it wasn't THAT bad to big with). I'm just sayin that for $360, can't they make one that bolts up and fits? I just don't get why that's a difficult thing. Are the frame tolerances that bad? Or is it a manufacturing process of the carbon that allows great differences from part to part? Or is it too hard to be very precise?

I would love to go with a carbon tank cover, tank trim pieces and fender on my X1...I just don't see myself spending $750 on parts that don't fit well!
