There is a 2005 XB12R with 1938 miles on it near me and I am extremely tempted to snag it. Asking price is $5495 and it is at a bike dealership so I don't know how much they are willing to deal. My problem is I wanted to sell my 2001 X1 first but things are moving slow in this economy. I don't want to miss a good opportunity but I also didn't want to take any money out of savings for this (I have two bikes already including the X1) but, I have no wife to discourage me so it's all up to me. Hmmmmmm! What to do, what to do! What's the general concenses-good deal or only average? I haven't actually gone to look at it yet (I would REALLY be too tempted) but it looks ok in the pictures. Those with Firebolts might know what specifically to look for.

Personally if I were in your marital situation I would have a garage full of toys. Sounds like a killer deal.

Looks like some pretty big chicken strips on that rear tire.

See how much they will deal..... go in with a low ball cash offer and see where they go.

You CANT go wrong with another one in the stable.

Matt.

Check out wear bars on tires, rear looks toasted. Good new is that previous owner never turned a corner on it.

Dealer might discount future tires.

DEAL. Have the dealer put on new tires and buy it. 2nd best color combo and all stock with REALLY low miles. That is a good piece to snag.

If you need a wife to discourage you, let me know I'll send mine over.

I think I'll make this decision on my own thanks. But thanks for offering up your wife

New motorcycles aren't the only thing she tells me "NO" to.

Almost bought an 04 XB12R this weekend but didn't hear back from the owner till too late to do anything about it. In the mean time I found an 05 XB12R with 4 miles on it. I'm waiting to hear how much they want for it but it will probably be more than I want to spend. The hunt continues.
