I've been searching the vault looking at info about installing a micron system. All of the horror stories about striping this or breaking off that ,have got me worried. How bad could this be? what are the odds of everything coming apart on a 04' without breaking anything. Any tips /tricks?

Rick

Hard to say.
Do you have all the tools you need?
How many miles on the bike?
Kept in a garage?
Are you mechanically inclined?

Pretty much, if you take your time, you'll be ok.
It'll take an hour or so, if you've done this sort of thing before.
If not, maybe two hours or so.
It's simple, but not necessarily easy.

Have I confused you enough?

I've got an info page on my site for fitting them. These have been used a few times and include a BadWeb link that is more than useful.

PB Blaster is your friend when disassembling anything that you think will be stubborn. Apply it and let it soak overnight. You can get this stuff at Napa.

Thanks for the info, I will pick up some PB blaster before I start.
The bike only has about 7K miles on it (not my fault, just got it last year ) and it is kept in a garage, hopefully it will come apart smoothly

Thanks for the help, I put the PB blaster to everything and it came apart easy. It took a little longer than I planned , but the bike had a jardine on it and that threw me a few curves.
