Hey guys, I'm new to posting on this board, thought I'd speak up and say Hey. I gotta thank this board for helping me pick the right model of Buell that fit me the best. Being 6'5" with 4' legs, its kinda tough to fit on to some motorcycles ha ha. I ended up going with a new XB12Ss and I haven't thought twice about it from the minute I bought it! Being my first street bike, it has been an experience but a good one so far. I grew up riding on dirt bikes around a farm in Minnesota so I got to know bikes pretty good, but I waited till I turned 21 before I set foot out on the roads. I've been a big fan of Buells most of my life, I love riding something that looks and sounds different than anything else on the road. Now that I'm in Orlando, FL going to school, I figured this would be a good time to start riding plus the economy could use the help (gotta make use of my student loans, might as well go to something fun). I'm also posting on here because I have a project class coming up next month (I'm going to school for Web Design and Development) and I am looking to make a Buell Owners website. My plan is to take all the popular mods that are described on this board along with other general information. I wan to do this because as a potential owner like I once was, it took a lot of digging to find all the info I wanted, so I want to take and put it all in one place. So over the next couple of week I might be contacting some of the posters on these boards about using their information on my site (everything that I use will be credited to the proper person/people involved in the content). Well that was long enough of an intro for me, here are some pics of "Alyson" as she has been named after a hot red head Alyson Hannigan Still in back of the Dealership ,Me on it, you see why I need the Ss ha ha (Message edited by Too_Tall_Ss on February 24, 2009) |

That looks like an Scg under you. My girlfriend wants a Buell so bad, but just can't touch the ground. She is only 5 foot tall. She hates all us 6'+ people. Congrats and enjoy the weather. I was in Jax for 4 years and bought my Buell when I moved back to northern Illinois. At least I had my Jeep down there. |

Looks like a sweet bike! That is red yes (camera is playing games almost looks orange), same color I plan to get, but in the Scg model. Should be a lot more fun then my R6 (which is VERY fun) on the streets... Although in Florida you probably would prefer an R6 , not a lot of twisties over there! Need to do a longgg trip up to the Tennesse Carolina border and ride the Dragon! |

Too_Tall, you being so tall, you may want to think about getting the Sport Seat. It will raise you up an inch to 31.5. I'm 6'2 and this helped a bit; more stretch for your legs. The Sport Seat is a lot harder that the stock seat, so I'll put the stock back on if I take a longer trip. Another thing that I like about the Sport Seat is that you can slide your butt around a lot easier when you hit the corners. Its not as tacky as the stock, plus it being more firm. |

Ha ha, lets just say I had a rebirth I'm gonna look into that Sport Seat Boney, my knees are right up against the bumps that come out of the frame. When I go 2up my knees are past it and I always wear my gear! |

Nice 09. Exact same bike I've got but it looks smaller with you on it for some reason!!! Enjoy and be careful. BTW, take the warning stickers off the right side and put them in your owner's manual. |

I'm about 6'6 and got a 12s.I "fold up" pretty nice with the 1" drop pegs and a city x seat.I can ride all day with no problems even with the select seat. You'll be able to move around on the x seat but love the select.Be ready to hear all the cracks about ridin'a scooter, elephant on a monkey, and so on.I'm satisfied I look odd on my bike but I got what I wanted.Ride safe. |

Ha ha, that is a pretty close resemblance. The 1" drop pegs and the Sport Seat is the way I will be going with my first mods. I sat on a 09 scg and it felt like a moped underneath me... |
