First of all, the fuse block on the Firebolt. I'm talking about the ACTUAL fuse block, NOT the covers or fuses or diodes. I need a part number for it. Mine busted when I went down in NC and the Part Manual does not list a number for it. I refuse to purchase a complete harness just to get this part. Barring a Buell P/N, can anyone tell me the supplier part number of it? It's made by EPC and I have contacts there, but they'll laugh at me if I call them up and tell them I need a 10-place fuseblock.

Second, does anyone on this board do or know of someone who does custom work with aluminum? I'm looking for something really specific to be made for my Firebolt, so I'm interested in finding someone who does that kind of work and can give me a price and timefram for my project.

Third, does anyone know of a good company to do ceramic coating. I want my header pipe and muffler coated on the 'bolt this winter.

Thanks a lot guys...if you know any of the answers to these questions, send them my way or point me in the right direction!

First: If you don't get an answer, try the Buell Customer service line and/or Court.

Second: Banke does 1-off aluminum work, you might also ask at real biker shops and Hot Rod shops.

Third: There's a thread on the main page right now about ceramic coatings and 5 places have been named (JetHot, Swain, HJC?HPC?, whoever is down the road from Pammy and FlapJack).
I'll go with Swain if I can find someone to remove the ding in my header.

When you say "aluminum work" you have to define if you are talking extrusions, machining, or sheet metal, or maybe some blend, not sure about castings.

The aluminum work I want done would most likely be machined, I can't imagine anyone creating a cast for a single person's job. I sent a little more info to Bomber, I'll see if he can point me to someone who can do what I'm looking for. I'd prefer not to say what it is here, just get it done and then post pictures when the whole bike is finished (hopefully this winter).

Darthane......you little cock tease! I can't believe you're even considering deviating from the perfection the XB is. What is it...polished alum heel guards? Frame slider mounts? (now there's an item worth money for an XB), maybe wheelie bars for your track days?....will you tell us if we guess right? A seat recliner? Highway pegs? c'mon You're killin us man....umbrella holder?(N.C. Joke....) Trike conversion?......anyone else want to guess?

Bomber is it worthy of all this effort? In all seriousness, I have some metal fab experience. (custom Buell as proof), Last winter I built a tube framed tail section for my X1, with all the bracketry to mount all the electronics and reservoirs and signals and plate. built a frame for a new seat and had it all chromed. If I can help let me know. I have access to quite a bit of machining equipment.

Shazam,

I'd like to see some pictures of your tube frame tail section if you could or would please, I've been thinking about grafting a S1 tail to my X1, don't quite have the experience to fab something myself, maybe you could point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance

Shazam,

LOL...well, I'll e-mail you the same thing I told Bomber, since you have experience and may be able to help me out. You're only getting the necessary info, though, not the whole thing. The guys around here know, but I want the finished product to be a surprise when I post pictures of it...and no, it's nothing so mundane as heel guards.

Josh, what makes you pick Swain? Good rep, price, location?

Shazam . . .. dunno brother, ,only Dar will be able to tell if it's worth the bother, yes? I do a bit of fabricating myself, and Dar's plan to mount a Russian ejection seat and bone-head seeking missle launcher to his scoot is, of course, his business, and no one else's <smile . . . . his plan is, clearly, something else . . . . I don't know all the specifics, but respect his desire to keep the surprise)

Bryan,
Price is about the same, their website has good info, Aaron recommends and it's a nice white to match my frame. However, If I can't get someone to remove the ding I'll go with HPC? or Jet Hot (tho I didn't have good luck last time) as they'll remove the dent.
