Quick question, I am sitting here at work and I was going to solder up my cable now that I have all the parts. I know which connector to use but I am not sure whether to use the male or female pins. Anybody have their bike around to take a look? Mine is at home since it was snowing this morning.

Thanks guys.

The bike has a female plug housing, with male pins. So you would install the female pins on your cable.

Thanks man, I really appreciate it. Now I can right to tuning tonight instead of spending time making the cable at home.

Mouser is out of stock on those...I ordered

626-DLP-TTL-232R-WE

Which is the same thing but has wire ends so you don't have to cut off the connector.

Whats the Deutsch P/N? does it connect to the grey ECM connection or the square data port connection? Also are you using a laptop with this? Does it have any effect on the data not having a 5v converter?

Jmor03-

I ordered the same part as Northernyankee - back-ordered until January 13th. Does this connect to a standard usb cable? Can you give me more specific info how and with what you made your cable? Thanks.

Mesa - I just called Mouser and they're out of stock. I ordered the assembly that you're referring to. I'll have it somewhere near mid-January. I'll have more questions later. Thanks.

Mesafirebolt & Jmor03 - after three months, I received my cable from Mouser. It looks identical to the one in the picture in Jmore03's post except the end that's connected to the usb wire is the piece that's not connected in the picture. (get it?). So, do i need to order the other end and re-splice? Wassup? Do I need the tool to pull and push the pins? This isn't such an easy start.

Yeah, you need the DT06-4S-C015 Connector.
You can find it at Batts Racing, its the 4 pin connector, about 10 bucks if I remember...
