My bike is at Harley right now in need of new wheels so I am trying to upgrade to 2010 wheels for my 2009 1125cr. I want to get the right part number for the rear 3 bearing wheel in piranha black with the red pinstripe if possible. They found a "villain black" wheel without a pinstripe. Is that the same kind of black? Do they have 2010 with the pinstripe? |

Be careful ! The Piranha black wheel with red pinstripe - although listed in the 2010 parts manual, is only available available in the 2 bearing configuration. The 3 bearing wheel is in villian black (no red pinstripe), part no: G0309.7AAYT You will also want the bearings(3)- E0005.5AK, dust seal(2) - EA0002.5AK, axle - G0321.3AM, axle spacer - G0323.5AK, wheel spacer - G0620.5AK These all came out of the 2010 parts manual (Message edited by sportster_mann on March 12, 2013) |

I checked the PN for the piranha black with the red strip and black only. They are not a valid PNs. The Villain Black is a good number (G0309.7AAYT) as I just purchased one a couple weeks ago. The other parts are as follows: 1 G0323.5AK SPACER, REAR WHEEL See the attached PDF for the remaining items. Note - I forgot to order the spacer. That is why it is not on the attached list.

So, the only difference to my part numbers is that they appear to have revised the 3 bearing wheel axle by putting an extra "A" on the end ... |

So is the villain black the same black as the piranha? Or are they different shades? |

I'm sorry for not getting back to you, I still have not found out any useful info. The 2010 1125CR did have the black with red stripe ( http://www.bikewalls.com/wallpaper/Buell_1125CR/31 2130831/1920x1200.html ), but I can't seem to figure out how to get the right part number. Villain Black is not the same as Piranha. The Piranha has a texture to it, while Villain/Designer black is smooth. Piranha is the same coat that the 09+ frames have. |

The 2010 1125 parts book I got in the mail yesterday shows the 2010 1125CR's rear wheel as being a 2 bearing rear wheel, while the 2010 1125R's rear wheel is shown as being a 3 bearing rear wheel. Which confirms what others have told me - 'they' never made the 1125CR rear wheel as a 3 bearing rear wheel. But really it's just a simple powdercoating and pinstriping job away from any 3 bearing rear wheel, 1313 |

The 4 black colors are: Designer Black Villain Black Phantom Metallic Black Piranha Black Villain black is listed for the wheels in the 2010 parts book, but it's listed as Designer black in the 2009 parts book. Villain and Designer black are the same color near as I can tell. Per both the 2009 and 2010 parts books, the frames and swingarms with the textured powdercoat are Phantom Metallic black, not Piranha black. The parts book lists the swingarm as Phantom Metallic black, but the removeable swingarm brace as Piranha black. The parts book says that the Handlebar clamp for the CR is Piranha Black, but I have one here, and on the box it says Phantom Metallic black (truncated). So I'm pretty sure that Piranha black and Phantom Metallic Black are the same color. The high res web pictures I have of the 2010 models show red striped black wheels on the CR models with the same satin non-textured finish as on the other Designer black wheels. They sure look like Designer black, NOT Piranha/Phantom Metallic black, to me. The 2010 3 bearing wheel is NOT available in Piranha black with the pinstripe. But the Designer black wheel is the same without the pinstripe near as I can tell. Al |

Thank you all for your help and input. This is what i have heard from the dealer: The 3 bearing set is only available in the villain black no pinstripe. However I’m told it’s the same shade of black just not the red pinstripe. They ordered the set of villain black wheels so i guess i will just see what they look like when they come in. I'm either going to have 3 bearings and have to do a custom pinstripe or i'm just going to have to run the same exact wheels. Here is the main reason i'm trying to do the upgrade... thats what happens when you hit a shoe box size rock on the 15 while going 75mph. bent wheels are for sale!!! |

Make an offer. They aren't bent very badly at all but I'm anal and need everything to be perfect on my bike. I'm guessing shipping would be around $80 total for both boxes. |

Just wanted to do an update. I now have my bike back with the same 2 bearing wheels I had before. I believe that they never made a 3 bearing wheel for the 2010 CR with the pinstripe. The dealer I was at also ordered the Villain black wheels that did have the 3 bearings but the black was glossy and had no texture so it was completely different than the Pirahna Black I have. I never had issues with my 2 bearings and wanted to keep the same look of the original wheels so I didn't go for the upgrade. If you are ok with glossy black wheels and want the 3 bearings, Bigg's HD in San Marcos CA has them. |
