For any of you that have installed HID kits on your 1125R where have you chosen to mount the ballasts? Can you provide photos? I've heard some mention under the fairing stay, but I'm not clear exactly what they mean. I'd like to mount them out of view and putting them under the stay seems like they would be in plain sight? I was considering putting them under the passenger seat, and ordering the long cord version from The Retrofit Source. However that compartment is already somewhat occupied with wiring for the battery charger receptacle. (Message edited by noobuel on March 27, 2013) |

When I mounted mine I and a few others have mounted them to the bottom of the headlight housing. With the front fairing off and light housing off install everything and then turn the housing upside down and mount them with the wires facing to the center. I used silicone and one small screw to mount the ballast. Then I let it all set up overnight then remount everything to the bike. Now the ballast sit on bottom of the light housing behind the front fairing. Nothing is seen and the fairing helps "hold" the ballast in place. No extra wires needed. I'm on my phone so I can't add pics but ill try later if I remember. Hope this helps |

I pulled the fairing and zip tied them to the top of the headlight assembly. With a smoked wind screen you don't really see them and when your stator goes out you can unplug them, with no tools needed,to get home |

Thanks for the input and picture. Seems like the consensus is that I won't need the long cord option and can just mount them to either the top or bottom of the headlight housing. |

3 HID before you ask 1 button is for door opener, the other is a switch is to turn off and on low beams with a time delay relay of 10 seconds so I dont put all the load on the stator at once. And if the stator goes bad I can turn off my low beams. The other is for heated gear.
