Today I had someone ask me if my bike was a Ducati. Prior to that, another bystander told me it looked like "one of those Italian bikes". Does anyone else have people mistake their bikes this way? Mike |

When I had my '09 Lightning, I couldn't go anywhere without someone asking me about it. It was all black with a Hawk pipe and lots of aesthetic mods. I think I've only had one person ask me about my 1125R. |

Ducatti mostly Busa before. When I tell them its a Buell its either "never heard of it", "sad that they are gone" or "that was made by harley right?" |

must have totaled it huh? Nope just every time it leaves my garage another part breaks. No parts in Canada means another 3 plus weeks in shop. Speed and O2 sensor this time. Went in may 31 and still not fixed. |

When the occasional Harley guy who at least knows the name Buell stops to talk, and when he realizes/is told this is not the Sportster based model, and then will ask what parts are Harley on it, I point to my two chrome skull license plate bolts. |

Believe it or not, every single person who has asked me about my 1125R knows EXACTLY what it is. I live in SoCal. All inquiries from fellow bikers. Go figure. |

It seems for a while nobody knew what a Buell was, only Buell enthusiasts and many riders I talked too would ask "what is that". Then came the 1125R and the DSB championship win and many more bikers became aware of the name. Then HD shutdown with a pause for a little while and now, boy, race on Sunday and sell on Monday is working and EBR is again in the forefront of biking news. YA! Most "real" bikers I talk too now know just what a Buell or EBR is and merely ask about the bike itself and its great engineering. I'm once again enjoying the coffee stops and the bike talk. Then there is always those that don't know anything and just say "nice bullet bike" to be friendly. |

I have heard the Busa comment and the Ducati comment a few times. Mine reminds me of a Halo Covenant Elite or Hunter when they are tucked in and fighting. |

I've never had anyone mistake it for something else. Around here it seems that the people who are really interested in bikes already know what it is, and nobody else even cares. |

Funny story... actually had some one mistake my Buell for a Buell... sorta. This was back in 96 when Buells were pretty rare and I lived in Michigan farm country which meant it was really rare. A car drove by the house while i was out washing it, then he u turned, pulled into the drive, and he said "Oh, thought that was a Buell at first, but still a pretty nice Duc." |
