ok finally got the new fuel pump in! bike is running alot better! but it still hard to start and now its pumping out codes, the bike was at the dealer for 3 weeks, just got it back saturday. today is the first day ive had it out since i got it back! 1 code is fuel pr system error po 193 and the other is comm error v0001. i have a preprogrammed ebr ecm with the jardine slip on! ive had it with hd and this bike. if it keeps doing this crap when it is off warrenty ill never be able to afford the labor on it! |

The codes won't clear for like 50 starts, or something. If your check engine light isn't on, don't worry about it. |

Ignore those errors if they aren't current. The comm error means there was a loss of communication between ECM and gauge cluster, usually due to a moment of low voltage. (Battery disconnected?). The Fuel pressure error was probably caused by the old fuel pump, so disregard it till it clears out. |

ok! now the bike wont start up right away! it takes a few pushes of the button to start! it farts a couple times, once it is running and warmed up, if ya crack the throttle quickly, it stalls! it stalled on me yesterday at the light, i let the clutch out and it died, the guy behind me almost drove into me! the error codes are still there. im gonna put the old ecm on there to c if that changes anything. out of all these bike out there, how is it that i got the lemon of them all? i know it sounds like im whining, but i havent had an enjoyable ride yet in the 2 years that i have owned it! |

Sounds like it needs a TPS reset. |

Get the manuals, it's a pretty easy machine to work on. A few tools and a place to work and you get time to "bond". If you get stuck, come here for help. PM me if you want, I'm happy to help as are lots others here. Let the IC/ECM initialize before you start, I wait until the "Made in Wisconsin, USA" goes by. Due to the size of the throttle bodies, stalling at idle with a wack is normal, don't pop the throttle too much there. If you don't see 0 - 100% in Diag Mode for TPS%, pull the airbox, lift the baseplate from the throttle bodies and check your throttle cables. If you haven't "de-noided" your bike, now is the time to do so. Pull the noid's cable and tie the throttle cams together. Also make sure the breather hose sticks up an inch or so from the baseplate(on the right side as you sit on the bike). Pay attention to tabs and clips at the rear of the baseplate and go slow, it's easy.

im not sure what de-noiding means, im new to fuel inject bikes! i think i know more than the dealer does! i only have the shop manual, not the eletrical book, i just went out and reset the tps and it still says 2. but it does stop at 100. the bike also seems to be stumbling when riding, if ya hold a steady rpm at any rpm, the bike seems to stumble, its not smooth like it should be! there is no surging as people have told me about thier bikes! almost kinda like coughing, its kinda hard to explain, but when the dealer gets the bike it seems to run fine! i have a month left on warrenty, im thinking they are waiting for it to run out! well it not going back there! the fuel pump wont cycle when ya shut the bike off like it should! im a little nervous to work on the bike in case i screw something up! could the ecm be causing all this? the idle jumps around too but it did that with the stock ecm on there. |

If you have the latest firmware in your ECM and an ECM from Erik Buell Racing, fueling and spark should be similar and quite smooth. Very early versions of the OEM were "crunchy", to me it was like riding a popcorn machine. I can idle in 1st and 2nd with no drive chatter on Loretta. Pull the 2 top airboxes and check that hose I mentioned. If it isn't sticking up an inch, pull it up with some needle-nose pliers until it is. If you do this, check TPS again, you should see 0-100%. Make sure your air cleaner element is in good shape while you're there. Z |

No, you will NOT see 0-100. 2-100 is normal. |

Frank's right. Just checked. snap-back to 1.5 a couple of times, then settled to 2. Gotta get off my duff and check before I post. Z |

well the dealer tells me the code was that it needed a fuel rail sensor, havent got the bike back yet, the warrenty runs out next week and now its getting to cold to ride, i hope they will extend the warrenty for me! im hoping this sensor is what has been causing all the grief with this bike! hopefully it gets rid of the popping at a steady rpm too! its on its last chance! |

I had the fuel pressure sensor fail on my CR ...when it does it defaults to maximum fuel pressure. I ran mine like this for a couple of weeks while the dealer got a new sensor for me and it definitely didn't start as well or run as smooth during that time. |

well im going to pick up my bike today! and of course its freezing out! im gonna ride it while im there and if it acts up, its done! i have a question though, is it possible the for the sensor to act up and not throw codes? because my bike has been running bad for over a year! and can anybody tell me what the solinoid under the seat does when its hooked up? |
