Found this pic of a Rotax Buell. Doesn't look like a sketch or drawing. Maybe the real thing?

Hmmm, I can't comment too much on the engine, but the leading edge of the fairing looks all wrong, and I'm kinda surprised to see it in a 'long' chassis. |

Must be a photoshop. The more I look at it, the proportions are all wrong...just look at the seat/ tail section. |

I dont hink it is a Photoshop. look at the detail around the chain and engine cases. Where did you find the photo? |

Looks like I nailed the radiator configuration... I have been waiting for that since I first saw that cooling fan patent. Of course it would be a long... a standard XB chassis would loop if you glanced at a throttle. That'll be a serious E-Ticket ride when they put that in a TT chassis. |

"That'll be a serious E-Ticket ride when they put that in a TT chassis" I agree...can't wait to see that.. |

The photo is right out of the latest Motorcyclist. Aug. of '07. I spoke with a dealership owner yesterday, they here that Buell is about to do something huge, but can't say what just yet. That looks "huge" to me. |

Is my '07 XB9R now "old school"? A Buell w/o a Harley based engine? Think I will pass for now, but if it brings more into the fold and stand-alone dealerships I am ALL for it. |

Makes sense it is in a long chassis as it needed a bit more room to fit the overhead cam heads and the wider vee layout. Belt is on left side now, most bikes are arranged with output shaft on that side, except for our beloved Sportster lump. |

I can't imagine that Buell would move to suck a big update without an update to appearances as well. The XB's are good looking, but most everyone is starting to call their looks "dated." If Buell is going to make that much effort to change the engine, a cosmetic change should be expected as well, at least in my book. |

Stuff to consider: * The final drive on the bike pictured appears to be on the left. * Chain drive with non-adjustable swingarm? Adjustable idler someplace? * Speaking of swingarms, what does this one pivot on? Will a compact, lightweight, svelte little motor handle the loads of the bike's weight through the swingarm? Is this even gonna be rubber isolated? -Saro |

I still didn't get this issue of Motorcyclist. I'm pissed. Is there anything being said about the bike? I hope this is completely untrue. If not then I got my new engine wish for Buells AFTER I purchased my Buell! |

Looks like the cat is pretty fully out of the bag now eh?! A little surprised that it has been kept this quiet, this long. Wonder how that video got leaked? The press is pretty well restricted until tomorrow. Did someone find it on MCN's website and download it? Or did MCN just say, we are first, don't care how pissed off H-D is about it? I love the engine and hate the styling. It looks like ET and a Yamaha R1 did the dirty deed judging by that low quality video. This is the engine Buells should have had all along and it's just my luck that it happens the year after I bought mine. I wonder how many of you air-cooled lovers will finally change their mind when this comes out and then claim to have never loved air-cooled engines? I guarantee at least one person will do this! ;) Oh and the bad news for me...the book value of the bike will drop like a rock on Sunday. |

Other than the front of the fairing, I couldn't make much detail out. Looks like some very different air scoops on each side of the bike, very Harrier jump jet looking. Most likely for radiator intake. The front of the fairing looks like no other I've seen. But I'll reserve judgement after seeing it in person. I'm no great fan of faired racing machines other than the Ducati 998 and its predecessors. |
