This isn't a Buell question but I wish to turn a V-Rod into something with a "normal" riding position.
Does anyone make an exhaust system that will allow me to fit non-forward foot controls?
Failing that, is there a web site (such as this one) devoted to the V Rod? Great motor but the rest sure could use Erik Buell's touch!

Steve, havent seen any pipes for the V-rod yet that would allow what you want.

Also there are very few if any decent Harley websites...I havent found any yet that compare to Badweb, atc or the Borg. Sporttwin has a Harley site Thundertwin but its completely void of any life at all. 1-2 posts per month.

Maybe Harley doesnt allow such sites??? I know I would love to find one thats even close to being comparable to badweb.

Have you guys tried subscribing to HeD? (Harley eMail Digest) or RMH (Rec.Motorcycles.Harley) on USENET? World Wide Glide is a useful site, but I don't think there is a chat interface.
If you have got a Sporty head to Sporster.org and join the mailing list.

Ferris, are those rock zits anything like the ones you put on my S2?

kinda sorta yeah just the same

As I recall, the last riding lesson I gave you was punctuated with me putting "rock zits" all over a previously pretty nice M-2 and taking the sleeve off an Aerostich Roadcrafter....and, well a rather impressive cliff on Angeles Crest.

yeah, that was a pretty bad case of acne you layed on that Cyclone, and you were none too kind to the 'Stich, either.

leave it to you to come rolling in on a scabbed Buell wearing a scabbed Aerostich and make it sound like you just blew DuHamel and Mladin into the weeds

so, how fast have you had the Cushman???

i love the combo clutch lever and shifter on that chopper along with no front brake keeps the handlebars clean! and side stands just add weight and clutter.

Without a doubt … a rat bike. I thought it was totally cool (except lack of a rear fender of sorts … a real nut catcher as it sits). Oh BTW, the mirror is "just stuck" in the handle bar with a rag "tightly packed" around the stem on the mirror. Check out the clutch, vice grip and springer front end.

On the way to Clarksville,Ga. yesterday on the S2.The inboard front brake pad broke a piece of
pad material,causing a hell of a racket!You could
also feel it thru the bars.We road the 20 miles
back home and swapped the S2 for the BMW and
headed on up to Clarksville.
We were there for the MSF Advanced Rider Course
and did the classroom bit in the morning. They
broke for lunch at noon.I made it about half a
mile down the road when I noticed it was taking
more power to maintain a constant speed.I pulled
in the clutch and did a stoppie onto the sholder
of the road.(bet you didn't know an 84 R100RT ex
cop BMW could do a stoppie)The front brake was
locked up tight!I pulled both calipers and tie-
wrapped them up out of the way and road to a friends shop and ordered pads for both bikes.
I'll order a rotor for the S2 and caliper rebuild kits for the beemer. And R&R front brakes
on both bikes.
I can't belive I'm off to get my Sunday burger
at Two Wheels Only in my truck.I'll have to park
across the street.

Dunno if the puppy was forsale or not. Never could find the guy that owned it. It was parked at a small strip mall near my house. I'm sure he lives in my neighborhood so I'll run into him sooner or later. I never noticed the vice grip until I viewed the picture at home. Makes me wonder what else I missed.

I'm not ordinarily moved by the "chopper" style...but that bike says it all...RAW RIDING !

Find the guy and meet him. I've a feeling we'll have much in common!

Ask him, and let him know it's not YOUR question, if he's ever thought about chroming the vise-grips?

I'm betting not.

JW,
You don't see many of those anymore. I always understood stripping a bike down to the basics but never understood the stretched front ends, even back then.

Philip,
My guess is the Visegrips operate the throttle. They're in about the right place and I don't see any other likely suspects. The guy that rides that thing must have really busy hands.

S320002,
Check the right handlebar again. It's an internal throttle. Pretty slick setup. I took me 2 looks to see it.

Vr1203,
I think that the nitrous might be a bit much for our demo bike! Outriggers to complement the wheelie bars might be a good idea, though.

Since Passion is all strung up I decided that she needed to have her tires changed. This was my first experience with the near karmic activity of removing the front caliper. I took everyones suggestion and taped the wheel. With pads removed, pistons retracted, and bolt out she would move just enough to get wedged into place. Time to contemplate this situation. I laid down on the job (literally) and noticed some reliefs on the inboard side of the caliper. After a few momemnts I realized that they were there for a reason. Time to unwedge the caliper, slide it back down on the rotor and then lift it and slightly rotate it outboard so those nice little reliefs passed over the rotor. Now I'm sitting here with the caliper in my hand and the front wheel ready to go get changed. Yes, it does take patience to work on a Buell and a measure of Karma doesn't hurt.

Could you give me an idea of the size of the thing?
