S2 or S3? I thought the inners were the same and the lids different? |

S2 liners are gray with blue/green "Buell Rising Road" logo silkscreened - S3 are black with embroidered Pegasus. I'll try to post pics. . . . I am head by too check in the guys clearing my crap out of storage., |

S3 are black with embroidered Pegasus. One version of the S3 liner bags was... I honestly don't recall how many different versions there were, but I believe I have onesie-twosie samples of either 2 or 3 of the different styles in my garage. There were some that were expandable, where the same liner would work for with the narrow lids and deep lids. Then there were some - the 'formed' ones come to mind - where there were spearate narrow liners and separate deep liners. I sure hope that I have some clues as to what the proper ones are/were for my Defender, otherwise it will get the only liner bags that (I think/believe/hope) I have a matched pair of... 1313 |

Disregard my previous post; I see now you mean the bags inside the bags. Some inception stuff going on here... |

>>>>>There were some that were expandable, where the same liner would work for with the narrow lids and deep lids. That's what (as I recall) about all the "official" ones were like. I have cases of the accessory catalogs here and could look them up. In addition . . .I have some fun pics from when we bought the school (some of you were perhaps not aware of that) and one of the pics shows hundreds . . perhaps thousands . . of S3 inner liners . . . a little ordering error. |

98 s3t sorry. Have narrow and deep saddlebags. Bought a set of hepco's from a member but a set designed for the bags would be great. Thanks |

Gads. . . . went to look for one thing and . . . . 59 cases of crap yet to sort through . . . . there are like 5 unopened cases of shirt and I even found some new racing shirts. . . Gads. The one in the upper left is a prototype. When I did my "Buell Lap of America" stunt . . . there was, at that time, no such thing as an S2T. My fairing lowers had "test" on the insides with paint stick. |

I've found my 'spare' liner bags (in a different area of the garage than I expected), and they are all the expanding kind. For some reason I couldn't locate the liner bags that I'm sure I used with the S3 bags on my S2, so those could possibly be another variation altogether...although I seem to recall that they might be like the set I've got earmarked for the Defender... First a lone left S2 inner (my originals from the S2 bags went with the bags when I sold them, as far as I recall):
Next, the set that I will use on my Defender (because the embroidering matches the NOS underseat bag I got, and matches the front fairing bags embroidering as well):
Then 2 right side S3 bags like Court posted:
I thought at one time I had some of the more rigid 'formed' bags that were unique between the narrow and deep bags: Narrow Deep But of course, I couldn't find them in my cursory search. Now if I could only score a set of NOS front fairing bags for the Defender... Sorry for the thread hijack, 1313 |

Nice shirts! Those are probably the ones that made a couple of trips to and from Mid Ohio. |

1313 I sold a set of bag liners several years ago and they were both the same side as well, don't remember if they were labeled Buell or had the Pegasus, or who got them, maybe someone could get a set straightened out. |

>>>Those are probably the ones that made a couple of trips to and from Mid Ohio. I'd be willing to bet you are right . . . not sure if there is any market for them these days but I am about 30% along the way in emptying a 10' x 25' storage area into my place . . . and starting to get rid of everything preparing for a move. There are shirts going back to the S2 free demo ride shirts . . some of the "art series" Buell commissioned famous artists to do limited editions . . . about 6 WHITE LIGHTNING canvas pocket camp shirts . . . .I kept finding boxes and boxes of new shirts! My favorite is still the "1,000 Buell Made" shorts from the day we had the opening to the new factory and I had the extended talk with Rich Teerlink. |

I have a pair that look like the gray bags, but no logo. I understood they are for an S3, but wouldn't work on my M2, now have no use for them. I will get their part number, and a picture. (Message edited by jayvee on August 27, 2014) |

When I purchased my s3t, it was as a possible engine donor to my ailing x1. X1 has sat for 4 years now and I need to get the ball rolling. Anyway I bought the s3t and brought it home. Never thought I'd like one based off looks alone but it's very comfortable and nimble. It had been dropped by previous owner and has a rashed header and cracked fairing. Seller gave me a box with brand new fairing and the shallow bags. Low and behold last night moving the box I found inner bags inside! I'll post a pic later. Thanks for all your input! Court, if you wanna sell some shirts PM me thanks again everyone! |
