YES!! This is GREAT news for me, but sucks if your provider doesn't have beIN Sports:

http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2016/Feb/160211b.ht m

They broadcast the races the way they SHOULD be watched: NO commercial interruptions during the race itself. This is awesome!

Oh, well. I didn't really want to watch motorcycle racing on TV anyhow.

If you believe that, I'll also sell you a bridge for short money.

One of the really good memories from last Fall was being at TWoS on Sunday morning and being in a fair sized group of Enthusiasts watching the Moto GP race at Phillips Island during Buelltoberfest. TWoS is my favorite campground anywhere, and to be there with a good sized group of Enthusiasts was really a treat. I hope there's a Race happening when I'm there again.

That channel carries another "Fringe Sport:" What we Americans call "Soccer" but what the rest of the world calls "Football." : )

I wonder if I can save any money by canceling ALL of my other sports-oriented channels now that everything I watch is on one?

Of course not. The cable companies require you to pay for a "Package". Usually, for your extra monthly fee, there are only 1 or 2 channels that you'll actually watch. It makes it almost worthwhile to subscribe to Moto GP and WSBK live feeds online.

I just subscribed to the WSBK Video Pass. I've been subscribing to MotoGP Video Pass for 3 years now.

I could forego most other types of video programming now that I have both of these.

I went to my local cable provider (evil Comcast), and negotiated a better package face to face. ..."you know, I'd hate to drop cable - is there something you can do?"...Got a package that included race stuff, got rid of some other stuff I didn't watch and saved over $75/month. You lose nothing by trying to get a better deal.

Actually, FiOS last year introduced an "a la carte" plan... pay for just the stations you WANT instead of buying "packages." I haven't explored it yet, though...

There is legislation in play to force the cable companies to sell channels individually, not just in packages.

Also, and probably the best part of this is, we'll get to OWN and program our own cable boxes.

The more I read about this season, the more intrigued I become. The new ECU lacks the "Adaptive Mode" of the old ECU. In other words, when the tire grip starts going down in the latter part of the race the ECU no longer automatically compensates. It is up to the RIDER to manually switch maps and/or modify his riding style. I LIKE that! It brings more human talent back into the equation.

This may also give "The Old Man" an edge the younger riders don't have...

You haven't heard? All of the major motorcycle racing events (MotoGP, WSBK and MotoAmerica) are being exclusively broadcast in the States by beIN Sports.

They actually broadcast the races live, but for some reason (at least on FiOS) it doesn't show up properly in the program guide. You have to check their website for the race times and program your DVR accordingly (no matter what FiOS CLAIMS is being shown at that time). The first WSBK race of the season shows up as "To Be Announced" on my DVR.

Bein's website lists Moto Gp and WSB but not Moto America. I guess it's not Bein(pun intended)televised.

Man they are really chipping away at road racing. If it doesn't just go in an oval or can be confined to an arena....it ain't gattin televised....lol

Probably because the MotoAmerica season hasn't started yet. First race is the COTA event that coincides with MotoGP.

The "Old Man" has already signed a contract through 2018 so he will be finishing up his career with Yamaha. Dorna must be now having kittens wondering what is going to happen after 2018, though...

It's like they lined up the first four rows of the grid by country:

Row 1: All Spaniards
Row 2: All Italians
Row 3: All Spaniards
Row 4: All Brits

Should be an interesting race tomorrow. Maverick Vinales made the first row behind Lorenzo and Marquez!

VERY interesting situation in Argentina. Due to a massive tire failure suffered by Scott Redding, Michelin is pulling BOTH rear tires they were going to use for the race tomorrow. Instead, the riders will get a different "safety tire" with a very different construction.

None of the riders have ever tested it before. Dorna is allowing an additional half hour of testing tomorrow morning prior to the race. Tomorrow's win will be by the most adaptable rider on the grid. It wouldn't surprise me at all if that rider were Valentino Rossi...

So whats your opinion on Lorenzo going to Ducati ?? Some say money... some say its he cant be team mates with Rossi. I think he may be going at a time when Ducati is starting to look good and Lorenzo may be seeing that.

One writer said Lorenzo's style was similar to Stoner's and he would do very well on the Duc. I think that writer is on DRUGS. If you ever watched Stoner, he was fighting the Ducati tooth and nail around the track. He rarely took the same line twice and always looked on the verge of crashing. He was the same way on the Honda.

Compare that with Lorenzo's machine-like precision and I'm wondering if there is another Lorenzo out there this guy was watching? Or maybe he was watching Marquez who DOES have a style very similar to Stoner's. Maybe he mistook one Spaniard for the other??

In any event, Yamaha has been spending nearly a decade building the M1 around Lorenzo's riding style; so much so that if any other rider wants to succeed on it, they have to emulate Lorenzo's "Brake early, accelerate throughout the turn" style in order to succeed. The Ducati's seem to like a "Honda style" of being ridden: Brake hard and late, pick up the bike quickly and use your acceleration to get you to the next corner.

If Lorenzo does make the jump he may get the same kind of nasty surprise Rossi had.

Lorenzo will probably go to Ducati just to prove the he is capable of winning on a different bike. He is or has been told that he is only capable of winning on a bike that is designed just for his ridding style. EGO AT WORK HERE.
