Bummer about eslick

I haven't seen confirmation yet- just "informed rumors". Hopefully we'll hear something soon. Anybody got an inside source they can ask?

My source is inside and it is a fact Danny has signed with Jordan. That is why he was not at Homestead with EBR.

most forget that - supposedly - Cory West was Erik's first choice [before Danny] for the 1125R Daytona Sportbike Championship-winning season

And remember this from New Jersey 2009.

The man in black has returned. The question remains will he ride a Buell in 2013?

I'll be an Eslick fan no matter what brand he rides. He is the most fun to watch on an EBR bike, but he is a classy guy and a good racer.

He has a promising career in an insanely competitive field with a very short age range during which he is likely to be able to compete. He better take every opportunity he can get.

It would be cool if Jordan was fielding 1190's!

With the relationship that they have together I doubt it would happen. I won't doubt for a second though that another will be fielded by another team.

It would be really neat to see the National Gard Team to be fielding an American built bike. USA Military and a USA bike what would be better than that RED WHITE & BLUE.

What a shame. This does however help to prove the point that an EBR is not a Buell. Danny rode the 1125 as if it were an extension of himself, making it do exactly what he wanted it to. He never really appeared to be comfortable on the 1190 as compared to the 1125. Different ergos, different power, different form, just different. A bike that has roots in the 1125 but is vastly improved. In my opinion, Danny is the most interesting and fun to watch pilot in the field. He deserves to be on a bike that he believes he can win on. While I would prefer that to be an EBR, my preference doesn't really matter. He deserves all the luck he creates for himself.

Man, I don't see that at all. Did you not see Danny's battle for second place at Homestead this year? I can't imagine someone being more "comfortable" on a bike than that.

Going from the 600 class to the 1000 class is always a jump for riders. Danny seemed pretty comfortable with the 1190, but was learning to ride the bigger motor.

I did and it was the best battle of the season. He was fired up and almost gave me a heart attack. One of the few times I saw his confidence in the bike really shine through. Good stuff.

Reepi, agreed. It takes seat time to get from pretty comfortable to second nature. I just wish he would have more seat time on an EBR.

Seems like every mid winter is AMA's version of NASCAR's "silly season". Sponsors looking for more exposure, teams looking for more sponsors and riders looking for more money and a move up in their status. Nothing stands still. Its "professional racing" and that means everyone is looking for more money in one form or another, and podium finishes or hopefully a championship sells bikes. Riders winning or placing high also brings them personal sponsors, better contracts and more money. I DO miss my roots with club racing both stock cars and flat track bikes in the heartland and practically no sponsor money at all. It was all on you and a few dedicated friends and it was much fun. Not now and definitely not in the professional ranks. And still AMA is one of the most competitive of all venues. And I'm still a great fan. Hope TV coverage is still alive for next year and I'll be at MMP on Memorial day weekend. See you at the races. Bob

I would REALLY like to see danny stay on the EBR and have Hero open their checkbook a little wider to add Cory West as a third team. I really like the thought of an all EBR podium. In time it will happen.

Two factors.... EBR is developing and the bike is not quite the same potential as the inlines on HP yet. If Danny had it im quite sure he would of been up there dicing with Herrin often... quite sure they may be some other reasons as well. The other being a Superbike learning curve. Herrin got to enjoy getting on a bike that Yamaha and Hayes have had plenty of time with.

The root question at this point may be what is EBR's sponsorship situation for next season? Did Hero just sign a one-year deal? What about Amsoil? If the sponsorships aren't firmed up, that may have more to do with Danny leaving than anything else.

Lots of teams are tight lipped right now. We'll see in due time. March will be here before we know it and the 200 kick it all. I've even heard Honda may come play. Don't know if its true but sure woold be nice to see everyone racing.

The last sentence of the press release seems a bit odd....

'The team will begin testing their 2009 GSXR1000 ready for the 2013 season'

Don't they have access to a 2013 model or atleast a 2012? Doens' the AMA model homologation run out after a couple of years?

Danny's comment on his Facebook page.:-)

"I just want to thank everyone for all the great comments, but The post on roadracing world was purely an assumption that Dave Swarts came up with! Thanks Dave"

Interesting. I'll bet there is still negotiating going on behind the scenes and the deal isn't settled yet. Hopefully Hero will cough up the bucks to keep Danny at EBR.

Hughlysses,

I know that hope springs eternal, but get over it, Danny will be riding a Suzuki for Jordan. His Facebook comment was humor.

The question now is who if anyone will replace him at EBR? With the economy and sponsorships hard to come by, it would not surprise me it it becomes a 1 rider team. Of course I am hoping Cory West gets the seat.
