I plan on running at the World of Speed in September. I have been following the tire rule discussion. Kind of a crappy deal, but probably not all that bad if someone comes up with good tires that are legal.

Anyone interested in a brand new set of Bridgestone tires?

I am not real worried about it. I have decided to run without a fairing this year, so I don't think the bike will go 200 this year. Hard to say until I see a dyno chart.

Jeff I guess you're running A-PG or F since the records are not currently over 200 you can run the tires you have now. When you raise the record above 200 then you will have to do something

Here's a new right side pic. Sorry the quality of the picture sucks, I need to learn how to properly compress a picture.

Also got my shock on.

Made good progress today. I ordered a bunch of AN fittings for the fuel system.

Also ordered a Daytona Twin Tech wideband dual channel AFR box that we will wire into the ECU for wideband closed loop control. That should make tuing the fuel system easy.

Last but not least, my intake manifold castings came in. Ordered 2 just incase I mess one up.

thanks guys. I hope to have it running in the next couple weeks.

The fuel system is about 90% done. Wiring is waiting on wideband O2 boxes to come in. Paint needs buffed out. I am going to cobble up some old exhaust pipes just to get it running.

Jeff, I know you've said before, you're looking for around 250HP in a less than maximum effort tune ??

186, Not really. I think 250 RWHP would be difficult to achieve. I expect to make 220 RWHP with the parts I am sticking together.

I believe that 210-220 HP would be enough to go over 200 with a decent fairing.

I initally planned on running a fairing this year. However, time and money are going to keep that from happening.

So if I show up with an open bike making over 200 RWHP here in Wisconsin, I don't really know if it will go over 200 mph. Probably won't

If everything comes together and the bike makes the HP I think it could, the air at Bonneville in Sept is good and I have the stones to pin the throttle, who knows what could happen.

Here are a couple fresh pictures. The exhaust is pretty much done, just needs a mount. Intake is on, need to build an air filter. Wiring is about 90% done. Fuel system is totally done. Fluids are in. There's a good chance it will crank, if not run this week.

The bike RUNS!! It actually fired right off and after adjusting the idle screw, idled and took throttle well. Maybe this EFI stuff isn't so bad afterall. It sounds awesome. My ears are still ringing. I can't believe how well it cranks over. 200 lbs of cranking compression with the compression releases active. Now there are a few things to clean up before it goes on the dyno for tuning. Video to come

It seems I am past the "build" stage and into "development'. Had the bike on the dyno last night for some tuning. The EFI is awesome. Nevin and Rob have worked up something pretty cool that makes tuning a breeze. However, looks like I have some minor oiling and transmission stuff to work out. Hopefully that will be sorted tomorrow so we can be back on the dyno early next week. Good luck to everyone headed to Speedweek. Wish I was there.

jeff that looks really good man! i would work on the aerodynamics better. we went 143mph on a 60hp motor. there are alot of things you can do to help with the open class. if you read the rules at maxton about headlight and turn signals, any oem headlight can be used as long as its installed in its originally intended location, and turn signals are the same. go find a busa light and signals ; ) and smaller tank. email me i might can help you with a tank if you would try. my email is thomas_cronan@yahoo.com good luck man!

Thomas, I know the tank is big on this bike. My other one I have a 2 gal sheetmetal tank on for that reason.

At first my plan with this bike was to build a streamlined bike with a good fairing. But over time my idea has shifted to build a "stock" looking S2 and see how fast it will go. Depending on how I feel after this year, maybe I will go back and put a fairing on it.

Have we meet at Maxton? Do you have the Silver s3 street bike you ride around the pits?

Hopefully tonight we will have some numbers. I had to fix an oil scavenging problem and I had assembled the shift drum incorrectly. Those things are fixed and hopefully things go well tonight.

Thomas,
I don't think it is easy to put a XB crank in a tuber. It is possible. Darkhorse has done it. The left side bearing needs to be changed on the crank.

Here are some new pictures of the bike.

It's making over 200, but still needs some more tuning. I am building some bigger pipes this week and cleaning things up so I can take it for a ride.

Nice. BUB or WoS this season?

Re-read the thread. Answered my own question. Have time to patch the XR fairing? We'd like to see another 200 mph Buell.

I thought about at least bringing a stock S2 fairing to run in the PS class, but I am just going to focus on the open class. 200 mph will have to wait. I am pretty much out of time and money, so what I have it what I have.

You have what you have ?? Damn Jeff, you HAVE the baddest Buell I've ever seen. I hope you can tune her up to the 210-220HP range. Hope you have time to video the final dyno pulls, that would be outstanding. Good luck at your events, I wish you 200mph "naked"...........steve
