You can't measure handling, although you can get various rider's opinions on handling. HP and torque is a straight forward measurement. Obviously, you can get different numbers on different dynos because the dynos may not all be calibrated to the same standard.

Advertising is intended to provide a flavor for the product. Knowledgeable buyers (I'm in the process of doing it now on another product) use that as a starting place to evaluate the product's ability to meet their intended needs.

Buell sold a number of bikes the first week the announcement was made. No one, they are all going to knowledgeable serious buyers, bought one without research.

I expect more information will be added to the website . . in fact . . I'll be you see the website change a LOT and likely an entirely new site soon.

But until then, now with all employees on board, all efforts are focused on building the best bikes possible and meeting delivery dates.

It's really exciting. I'm expecting my first order to arrive this week.

That's the point of a few configurations with the dyno run's and conditions stipulated, humidity, air temp, the type of air filter, exhaust, and then do a few different set ups, cams, ecm, chain drive conversions with different settings in the teeth, whatever they are looking to sell as a kit with the sheet. Why is it so hard to get something that simple? Hell in the back of the HD Parts catalog in the engine mod's area they do dyno runs with different packages to give you and idea of what one package will do vs another. What's the big deal? Why would this be something that is "unobtanium" from EBR, they do have a dyno, no?

So if I can ask, some different cam setups please. I will do my suspension before the engine work, but it would be nice to know what I could get from a cam change as well as maybe some head work??? Or does all of that have to come from the local speed shop instead????

Like I have written before, and maybe Court can answer, is EBR looking to sell kits to the general public or is it specifically set to selling race bikes and race kits only. If they are only interested in racing parts and racing bikes and have no desire to sell to the average street rider looking for more power and experience, and that is fine if they are dedicated to racing only, and if so then I will find a speed shop that is willing to dive in and get it done.

It really is and to that end I have written Ducati Corse and pointed this out. They simply can't go making these claims without offering proof to everyone on the internet.

Looks more like a GP/Desmosedicci engine to me than an 848, or maybe the AMA are allowing Ducati a few 'extras' this year; )

Some honest folks actually put themselves out in the world, they work, innovate, achieve, compete, live life and use what God gave them to the fullest. They are a gift to humanity and deserve nothing but respect and certainly a modicum of deference.

Others seem to thrive on nit-picking, nay-saying, and badgering. The indignant petty little critics of the world, those whose intent is to try to bring down the doers of the world, they are of no value to the world. Such miserable souls deserve no respect, pity maybe, but never respect.

As Theodore Roosevelt said so well,

I've been asking myself, how can it be that an individual can be so mean-spirited, arrogant, and disrespectful, so cold-hearted, and just the most insensitive miserable jackass on the planet, that recently seeing Buell Motorcycle Company literally murdered by Harley-Davidson Inc, a person would then take up attacking Erik Buell's newest venture as some kind of arrogant personal vendetta?

The question is rhetorical, please don't offer an answer. I cannot express the depth of my disappointment and disgust at such miserable behavior.

There's not a professional motorcycle road-racing shop anywhere that I know that publishes the dyno sheets for their professional racing machines. They rarely advertise any kind of performance. Most often, they go racing and let their success speak for itself.

The EBR 1125RR (including its ZTL braking system) beat a number of the AMA factory Superbikes in virtually its debut outing and was fighting for a top five finish.

The 1125R (including its ZTL braking system) won the AMA Daytona Pro Sportbike championship.

I taught my first class as a new Professor at Columbia last night.

I got an interesting question . . . to the effect . . "Where did you learn most of the important things you know? . . Was it your education, 38 years experience or involvement in the industry?"

I answered without hesitation.

"It was my failures".

Sure enough . . . I've never learned more than from the jobs I screwed up, a failed business and contracts gone awry. No amount of Ivy League Law School classes can teach you as much as you learn in your first, ill advised, law suit.

Having an accounting degree is great but trust me . . . I learned more about accounting and finance during a couple REALLY tough years (loosing $100,000/month of your own money is as fun as having nails pulls with Channel-Locks) in the business.

The jobs I've learned the most about Project Management on are the bids I (PERSONALLY) screwed up. Nothing quite as sobering as sitting in Sacramento, Topeka, or Austin at the State Highway Letting and hearing bids reed . . . .

Frankly . . . I've always enjoyed folks who are so confident in their skills, their willingness to work hard and their laser like focus on success. My Dad was kinda like that. I mean . . he got pissed at Ralph Hixon (CEO of Power Constructors, Inc) in February 1963 and when Hixon told Dad . . "if you are so smart, why aren't you Rich?" Dad went to the College Hill Tavern, did some heavy drinking and borrowed $50 each from 10 Linemen in the bar. . . when he sold his company 19 years later it was one of the largest in the country and that was ALL the money he ever borrowed in the history of the firm.

Frankly . . . it's what appeals to me about Buell and many of the folks, among the now over 4,000, I've met in 22 years of Buell riding.

I love the good, I love the amazing and I like to shoot for the impossible. It's taken me to some fun places and put me in the company of folks I likely don't deserve. If someone told me in high school that I'd be the Congressional Liaison for the Commanding General, flying on Air Force One, getting the AGC Contractor of the Year Award, speaking with Dion Sanders in Washington DC and Bill Gates in San Fran and teaching at Columbia . . . I'd have laughed.

But I confess I have to renew my "filters" and simply start ignoring folks who spend their time as pundits and detractors.

I don't know who said it . . . but it'd good.

P.S. - A couple of you knew Dad. For those of you who don't you'll get laugh out of this. In 1983, as I appeared to be the heir apparent to a major construction organization, he walked in one day and announced, at the spry old age of 52, that he was retiring. Sure enough some young lawyer had popped off and told Dad that "until it's signed it's worthless" (referring to a contract).

Dad didn't say a word but returned to the office, called the entire staff to his office and explained. "I've worked hard and I've been lucky but I am not the smartest guy in the world. Until today I've always been confident because I understood my business. Today, when I learned my word was not longer my bond, it's obvious that I no longer understand the business. We are going to conclude all projects and I am going to auction everything. He did . . both planes, the helicopter, furniture, cranes, Dozers, 400 trucks and the works and never looked back.

When I announced I was starting my own business he sat down with me, wished me the best and told me "when I gave you an education, I did the best thing I could. Any money I'd give you will only keep you from learning your own lessons". When I, during the above mentioned tough times, went to him for help and asked "what can you do for me?" . . . his answer was "Love you, I'm your Father". But if I were going to give you one piece of advise it would be to get your ass to see your banker as fast as possible.

The guy was a legend and I still miss him.

I was at a dam project with a bunch of white collars, made some comment on an issue and a lady said, "I bet you're in Mensa." Pulled out my long expired membership card and handed it to her. A person I worked with said, "if you're so smart, why aren't you rich?" I said, chocolate cake is rich, I'm wealthy. Which I was, and still am. "Now," said me, "let's define wealth." This experience eventually taught me that people can forgive you for being rich, they can't forgive you for being smarter than them, especially if you work for them, not over them. Lesson: One needs to learn tact. It's as important as being able to hold your liquor. It also helps to work for yourself.

thank you all so much for your support. I am very busy at moment to prepare all for the first tests of the bikes in Cartagena begin of March. In addition to the E.B.R 1190 RR-B we prepare also the XB´s and the 1125R with our own complete bodywork.
