I have an 06. For those of you that have replaced the fork springs with the 07's how do you like them? |

I have them ordered. Will install them this winter when I do the fork oil change. |

I also have not installed mine yet. A fellow local rider on here, Murraebueller, that is also an MSF instructor has them and loves them. He recommended them to me this weekend during the ERC course after watching my severe brake drive during exercises. |

I'm thinking about upgrading when I do my fork oil change at 10,000 miles. I'm wondering how they effect the suspension settings in the manual. Will I still use the same settings, or have they changed as a result of the new springs? |

Interesting. Not only do the front preload and compression settings change with the 07 springs, but the rear preload and compression settings do too. |

That makes sense to me. If the front changes then it will effect the bike as a whole. |

I can't say I notice any problem with the 06 springs. I, like many here thought the suspension on the Uly was awsum the first time I rode one and that first impression hasn't changed for me since. Maybe because I do a lot of 2 up I don't notice any excessive dive or it just doesn't concern me. It may exagerate the tendency to stand up when braking in a corner because the front height effects the handling of the bike. For that reason alone I will be demoing an 07 just to see if thats the case. |

Dave, what's the $$ for the 07 Fork Springs? If I'm having the suspension lowered, may as well upgrade the front springs. |

I got a set from Daves that I'm waiting for some spare time to install. I debating on if I want to order a spring compression tool or just figure out a way to do it with stuff I have laying around. How much preload is on the springs? Most of the forks I've worked on only needed a light push to get the threading started. |

Other threads on badweb showed using a ratcheting strap to compress the spring. The preload seems light enough that you can push down on it yourself, at least that's how one of the tools works. |
