Nevermind, a couple of washers did the job. So far I like the seat. |

Where did you put the washers? I'm having trouble getting mine to latch. |

Carlos Thanks for linking the picture comparison link and posting some good useful photos in your linked post. Tell Ulywife thanks for listing your 29 inseam which gave reference to the pictures. Now I am thinking the ULY with 07 seat would work with my 30 inseam. Before I was convinced it was too tall. Now the question: should I keep the XB9S, 73 2 stroke dual sport, and consider a ULY. Yes. Thanks to both of you. Slick |

Went and sat on an 06 Uly. While there are alot of things I like about it, in the end it is just too tall. I'm aware of the Kouba Link to lower the V Strom are there any ways of lowering the Uly? For those of you that ride the bike, who has the shortest inseam? Why are all of the standard bikes so tall, V Strom, Tiger, MultiStrada ect....? And why are Ducati Monsters made for short people? |

Slickster - what part of Cincy are you in? M2nc and I have family and friends there. In fact, we'll probably be there just after Christmas for a few days. |

I'm wondering the same thing mugwump. Now that my S3T has gone to a new home, I'm really wanting a new Buell that I can tour on. That means a bike I can attach hard bags to, and the Lightning Long fails on that count. But the 06 Ulys that I've seen have been way too tall for my 30" inseam. |

Mugwump & Old_mil - try the '07 seat. M2nc rides a Uly and his inseam is 29". We have all 3 seats and the '07 has the best reach. You can see the comparison of all 3 seats he linked to up above. |

Thanks ulywife...I just discovered that thread. I need to get ahold of Dave and get one. The only question is...orange or black? |

We like the orange at this house! Crusty says it's the sexier color! |

Thanks for the info. I think my current saddle height is about 770 mm or a bit more. I've got to remind my self that I don't have my foot down that often. Need to get a test ride before the Duc dealer sucks me in. |

For reference, here's an old post illustrating the 3 different seats available for Ulys: 06 standard (tall), 06 "low", and 07-up standard which is similar in height to the 06 "low". http://www.badweatherbikers.com/cgibin/discus/show .cgi?tpc=142838&post=760948#POST760948 The "tall" accessory seats have the same contour as the original 06 standard/tall seat, except the cover is slightly different. I think they eliminated the seam around the edge of the rider's seating area on the accessory seats. |
